Our big Spaghetti Fundraiser will be on
Friday, October 24th at the Lied Center. We’re
looking for people with the gift of sales to
help sell tickets. The top seller will receive
TWO free tickets to the dinner, a picture and
an article in the newsletter.

Is…. Jay Berry! Jay is here every
Friday working tirelessly in the
kitchen cooking, cleaning and
serving. When he’s in between
things in the kitchen, he’s
shooting pool with the other
pool players! He never complains
even when we have LARGE
parties on Fridays. 
Thank you Jay!
August 9th is Book lovers Day!
Book Lovers Day encourages you
to find a place to relax with a
good book.
Book reading is a great hobby. It's
an important one, too. Reading is
educational, informative, and
relaxing. It makes people both
smarter, and happier.
Clean off your bookshelves and
bring your books in to the Senior
Center for a book swap on Friday
August 8th! The swap will be held
all day and any left will be
donated.
Did you know that the month of August is often
referred to as the "dog days of summer" but not
because of pet pooches? It has to do with the
star Sirius, also known as the Dog Star, which
rose at the same time as sunrise during the
month of August in ancient Roman times.

continued operation of the Bellevue Senior Community Center.
Call the Bellevue Senior Center at 402-293-3041 for more information.
We will be having a contest on who can sell the most tickets for this fundraiser!
The WINNER who sells the most will have their picture in the newsletter, an article about them, and will
receive TWO free tickets to the Spaghetti Supper! So, talk to the people in your neighborhood, at your
apartment complex, when you get your haircut… and help spread the word about this event!
Come in and talk to Regan or Cheryl if you want to help out! We also need items for raffle baskets and
the silent auction! We have many creative minds in the Bellevue Senior Community Center and we
KNOW you can come up with that basket that EVERYONE wants to win! How creative can you be?
Over the past few years, the Bellevue Senior Community Center has experienced tremendous growth. As we
continue to grow, we are always looking for new ways to improve the center. We strive to add activities and events,
provide services to our area seniors, and give the seniors who attend our center a chance to get involved and give
back; all the while keeping the senior center’s costs and overhead low. Continuing to grow while faced with today’s
economy is not always an easy task.
Because of our growth, the Bellevue Senior Community Center has created another opportunity for seniors and
others to support us, The Bellevue Senior Community Center Booster Club. The Booster Club is a 100%
voluntary club that supports the efforts of the center. The cost to belong to the Booster Club is $20 per year. We
pro-rate the cost if you sign up now to ONLY $1.75 a month!
With participation come great benefits: Each person who joins our Booster Club will be entered in a quarterly drawing.
One of the most talked about benefits is a mailed copy of our newsletter. Only those who have joined our Booster
Club will receive a mailed copy of our monthly newsletter. To continue to receive a mailed copy of our
newsletter, you will need to join the Booster Club.
Please complete an enrollment form and take it to the Front Desk at the Bellevue Senior Community Center with your
$20 payment of cash or check. It will be valid from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015.
