This User Guide explains the features and gives additional information on how to refill your account. Installation The installation process is detailed in a separate document which can be found online at www.vonagemobile.com/downloads/VonageMobile_Installation_Guide_IPHONE.pdf. What is Vonage Mobile? Vonage Mobile is a downloadable application for your iPhone. It helps save you money on international mobile calls by routing them through the Vonage network at Vonage Mobile’s low rates. Once you install the Vonage Mobile application on your phone, set up an account and pick a rate plan, you are ready to make calls. Vonage Mobile works alongside your existing mobile plan, so you keep your number, mobile phone, current setup and mobile service provider. The footer of the Vonage Mobile keypad provides access to the following features: • History • Contacts • Keypad • Twitter • My Account History Use your Vonage Mobile History to find your call history. You can redial calls from here. Pressing the “ below. ” symbol next to an entry will give you the options listed View the Terms of Service by visiting the Vonage Mobile website at www.vonagemobile.com/tos. 4 ISSUE1.2 March 31, 2010 • Call • Create New Contact • Add to existing contact Contacts Your Vonage Mobile Contacts are linked up to your regular iPhone contacts. Simply use the search bar at the top to search for contacts. Keypad The Vonage Mobile keypad allows you to manually enter a number to dial. Your Vonage Mobile e-wallet balance is displayed in the bottom left of the screen. Note: Please see the “Using Twitter” section for information about using Twitter from within your Vonage Mobile application. My Account The My Account section provides the following features: • My Account Information • Select Rate Plan • Apply for Discount • Add Funds to My e-wallet • International Calling Rates • Call History • Update Credit Card • Help • About Vonage Mobile View the Terms of Service by visiting the Vonage Mobile website at www.vonagemobile.com/tos. 6 ISSUE1.2 March 31, 2010 My Account Information This screen displays your personal information along with your user name and password (masked) used to log in to your Vonage Mobile web account. It also displays the 4 digit PIN you chose during the Sign Up process. You can change your existing password by pressing the Change Password button. If you need to change any of your personal details simply press the Change Personal Information button. Change Password If you need to change your account password at any time simply enter your existing password and then choose and confirm the new password. Press Done to save your new password. Select Rate Plan This screen displays your current rate plan selection and allows you to change it. If you need additional information about either rate plan, select the View Details link for that plan. To change rate plans, press the “Get” button associated with the new rate plan. View the Terms of Service by visiting the Vonage Mobile website at www.vonagemobile.com/tos. 7 ISSUE1.2 March 31, 2010 Apply For Discount If you have Vonage World home service and you select the Vonage World Mobile plan, you may be eligible for a discount. Enter your home phone number on this screen and press Save. You will receive an email regarding your discount within 48 hours. Add Funds to My e-wallet If you chose Add Funds to My e-wallet from the My Account menu and you have already entered a credit card into the system, the Add Funds screen is displayed. It displays your current settings and your current refill method. If you are on the Vonage World Mobile plan and you previously defined Auto-Refill settings, you can cancel them from this screen. In addition, you can add promotional funds from this screen. To cancel your previously defined Auto-Refill settings, press Cancel Auto-Refill. If you want to set up Auto-Refill again at a later date, go to the My Account menu and select Add Funds to My e-wallet. To add promotional funds to your account, press Add Promo Funds. Add Promotional Funds Enter a promotional code in the field and press Submit to add the promotional funds to your account. View the Terms of Service by visiting the Vonage Mobile website at www.vonagemobile.com/tos. 8 ISSUE1.2 March 31, 2010 International Calling Rates Select a country from the list or use the Search feature to find a specific country’s call charges.1 Rates are displayed by rate plan (Vonage World Mobile and Pay Per Use) for both landlines and mobile phones. Call History Pressing a month allows you to view all your outbound calls including number, date, duration and cost. Note: The time is displayed in Universal Time Coordinate (UTC). Update Credit Card This screen displays your current credit card. If you’d like to change your current credit card, select Change Card. You can also add remove a credit card by pressing Remove Card. 1 Rates are subject to change. Pressing the Support page on vonagemobile.com website link will open a web browser and take you to the Vonage Mobile iPhone support page. About Vonage Mobile This screen contains information our Customer Care agents may need when you call in for support. In addition, it provides link to the Vonage Mobile website and Terms of Service. View the Terms of Service by visiting the Vonage Mobile website at www.vonagemobile.com/tos. 10 ISSUE1.2 March 31, 2010 Vonage Mobile Explained Connecting to Vonage Mobile A successful Vonage Mobile connection is signified by your balance displayed in the bottom left hand corner. NOTE: If you are not connected, Not Available will be displayed in the Balance field. When you are in range of a Wi-Fi signal and not already connected, the Wi-Fi connector should automatically pop up when you launch the application. Select an Access Point and enter the password if required. Note: This only happens if your iPhone Ask to Join Networks Wi-Fi setting is on. If a Wi-Fi connection is available, the application will always attempt to make the call over Wi-Fi. To make Vonage Mobile Wi-Fi calls simply dial a number as usual and press the Call button. Alternatively you can do one of the following; 1. Select a contact from the Vonage Mobile Contacts list. 2. Select a History contact. View the Terms of Service by visiting the Vonage Mobile website at www.vonagemobile.com/tos. 12 ISSUE1.2 March 31, 2010 You will be prompted with a message informing you that charges for Wi-Fi network access may apply and that if you leave the range of the Wi-Fi signal the call will be dropped. If you receive an incoming call your Wi-Fi call will be dropped. Press OK to acknowledge this message and place your call. Note This message only appears the first time you make a Vonage Mobile Wi-Fi Call. Vonage Mobile will now place your Wi-Fi call. The Vonage Mobile Wi-Fi call is now in progress. View the Terms of Service by visiting the Vonage Mobile website at www.vonagemobile.com/tos. 13 ISSUE1.2 March 31, 2010 Vonage Mobile Call Through Vonage Mobile Call Through allows you to make low cost international calls wherever you have mobile phone coverage. This means you can use Vonage Mobile for all of your calls, and not just when you have Wi-Fi coverage. What is a Vonage Mobile Call Through call? If you dial an international number, the call is automatically redirected to a Vonage Mobile access number* in the US and then completed to the international destination. This is often at a much lower cost than the international rates charged by mobile carriers. *A Vonage Gateway number will display in your handset. How do I make a Vonage Mobile Call Through call? From the iPhone home screen open Vonage Mobile. If you do not have Wi-Fi access, all calls will be placed over your mobile carrier. This is known as a Vonage Mobile Call Through call. There are a number of ways that you can initiate at this call. Simply dial a contact from the Keypad screen or select a contact from your Contacts or History. You will be prompted with a message informing you that you will be charged by both your mobile service provider and Vonage Mobile. Press OK to acknowledge this message and place your call. Note This message only appears the first time you make a Vonage Mobile Call Through Call. If you are using iPhone OS 3.0, a pop up box will appear. Press the Call button to confirm that you want to place the call. Note: If you cancel the Vonage Mobile Call Through call you will need to press the call screen in order to go back to the Vonage Mobile dialer. If you are using iPhone OS 3.1, a pop up box does not appear. The local Vonage gateway number will appear as the number being called. Note: If you are using iPhone OS 3.1, when you press End Call you will be returned to the iPhone native dialer View the Terms of Service by visiting the Vonage Mobile website at www.vonagemobile.com/tos. 16 ISSUE1.2 March 31, 2010 Q: What actually happens to the call behind the scenes? A: Your call is routed via your service provider to a Vonage Mobile local landline number in the US and Vonage Mobile completes the rest of the call. Q: What will it cost? A: Your mobile minutes for the call to the Vonage Mobile access number in the US at the per minute rate charged by your mobile carrier. (Please note that a data plan will be needed). And if you have selected the Pay Per Use rate plan, you pay Vonage Mobile low worldwide rates for the international part of the call. If you have selected the Vonage World Mobile plan and are placing a call to one of the 60 countries included in the plan, the international part of the call is included in your monthly plan. Using Twitter Vonage Mobile has incorporated access to Twitter into our iPhone application so you can constantly keep people updated with what you are doing. Note: You must have a Twitter account to use the service. Please sign up at www.twitter.com To use the Twitter based services please enter a valid Twitter username and password in the Vonage Mobile settings panel. From the iPhone main screen select Settings>Vonage Mobile and find your Twitter account settings. Open the Vonage Mobile application and select the Twitter icon in the footer. View the Terms of Service by visiting the Vonage Mobile website at www.vonagemobile.com/tos. 17 ISSUE1.2 March 31, 2010 You’ll be directed to a screen displaying the last 20 ‘Tweets’ posted on the @Vonage_Voice thread. If you’d like to reply to a ‘Tweet’ or see the other threads you are following on Twitter, you will first need to log in to Twitter. Press the Log In button on the top left of the screen. The Twitter log in screen will be displayed. Enter your Twitter username and password and press OK. They will be saved in your Vonage Settings. If you had previously entered your Twitter username and password in the Vonage Mobile Settings screen, you will be automatically logged in when you press Log In. You will not need to enter your credentials again. To reply to a Tweet press the Reply button next to the message. View the Terms of Service by visiting the Vonage Mobile website at www.vonagemobile.com/tos. 19 ISSUE1.2 March 31, 2010 Restoring My Vonage Mobile Settings If you need to restore your Vonage Mobile settings on your iPhone, simply complete the steps below. From the iPhone home screen open Settings. Navigate to Vonage. Move the toggle bar next to Restore Settings to switch it ON. Select the Sign in here link on the Create your Account page to sign in as an exiting user. Please see the Re-installation on the iPhone™ section in the Installation Guide for further instructions. View the Terms of Service by visiting the Vonage Mobile website at www.vonagemobile.com/tos. 21 ISSUE1.2 March 31, 2010 Change my iPhone phone number used with Vonage Mobile If your iPhone phone number changes it is important to update your Vonage Mobile account. Otherwise, when you place a call, you will be displaying the wrong number to your contacts and they will not be able to return your missed calls. From the iPhone home screen open Settings. Navigate to Vonage. Move the toggle bar next to Change Number to switch it ON. View the Terms of Service by visiting the Vonage Mobile website at www.vonagemobile.com/tos. 22 ISSUE1.2 March 31, 2010 Navigate to the iPhone home screen. Open the Vonage Mobile application. You will need to enter your Username (by default this is your iPhone phone number) and the Password you chose when you created your account. Press Sign In. Your Vonage Mobile credentials will be confirmed. Enter your new phone number. Press the Go button in the upper right corner of your screen. Enter your PIN when prompted. Press Answer to accept the incoming call. Press Keypad to open the iPhone keypad screen. View the Terms of Service by visiting the Vonage Mobile website at www.vonagemobile.com/tos. 24 ISSUE1.2 March 31, 2010 Listen to the instructions provided over the phone, in full, and enter your numeric PIN when prompted. Press End Call. A Congratulations message will be displayed. Press OK. Add Funds to your Vonage Mobile Account Vonage Mobile uses an automatic refill method. Set it up once and you will always have credit. If you have selected the Vonage World Mobile plan, your e-wallet funds will only be used for calls outside the 60 countries included in the plan. If you selected the Vonage Mobile Pay Per Use plan, all Vonage Mobile calls will be deducted from your e-wallet funds. Your balance is refilled automatically when it drops below your preset level. By default, the automatic refill amount is set at $5.00 and the low balance limit is set to $2.00.2 Add funds to your Vonage Mobile Account in one of three ways: 2 • From your iPhone • On our website at www.vonagemobile.com/myaccount • By dialing 1-800-405-4VON • Add Promotional Funds Minimum usage fee and forfeiture rules apply. See the screens below for step by step instructions. Press the My Account button in the bottom right hand corner of the Vonage Mobile application. Press Add Funds to My e-wallet. Select you auto refill amount and press Submit. NOTE: If the credit card you entered previously is now expired or no longer valid for any reason, you will be guided through adding a new credit card before the Add Funds screen is displayed. Press the Make Call button to return to the Vonage Mobile dialer screen. Adding Funds by Phone Vonage Mobile has a telephone refill system which gives you even greater flexibility when managing your Vonage Mobile balance. Simply dial 1-800-405-4VON to use our easy step-by-step telephone system. Add Promotional Funds You can enter a promotional code by selecting My Account>Add Funds to My e-wallet> Add Promo Funds. Enter the Promotional code and press the Submit button.
