ll of our pottery is thrown by
hand on a potters wheel and
fired to cone 9 - more than 2300
degrees F. - in a gas-fired kiln.
We use stoneware clay because
of its durable characteristics and
warm color.
We produce functional,
practical and traditional shapes
and strive to make each pot as
useful as it is beautiful.
Of
course, our pottery is completely
lead-free, oven and microwave
proof and dishwasher safe.
Our decoration is kept to a
minimum with a variety of strongly
geometric but understated
patterns to enhance the shape of
the pot.
Saltbox Pottery has all the
benefits of modern technology
while evoking a simpler time.

Traditional Design...
Timeless Appeal
elcome to Saltbox Pottery. I
began making pottery on the
wheel at the age of 14. Over thirty
years later, it is still my passion.
Since opening the studio, my main
goal has been to create functional
pottery which relies on basic form
and shape for its beauty, reminiscent
of pottery from the past. So... take a
few minutes to browse.
