Meet the experts The Metropolitan Builders Assoication’s Fall Remodelers Tour takes you inside homes in your community that have been transformed by MBA remodelers. This Tour provides the perfect opportunity for you to see how challenges were overcome through the use of creative design and quality materials. New this year, each project will also offer you the opportunity to “Meet the Experts” to discuss topics, such as design, appliance trends, energy savings, green remodeling, value added, financing, and more. The 2009 Tour runs from Saturday, October 10th – Sunday, October 11th from 11:00 am to 5 pm. Locally, remodelers are seeing projects that encompass more than one room on the rise. “While it is still possible to do a kitchen remodel, it is getting more common to see remodeling that has a Get a $2 discount when you bring two non-perishable food items to donate to the Hunger Task Force. direct impact on the rooms around it,” said Ed Miller, E. Miller & Associates, Chairman of the Remodelers Council. “Some kitchen remodels provide the inspiration for additional changes in the adjoining family or dining room, but homeowners are also adding mud rooms, laundry rooms, bathrooms, or gathering rooms to the scope of their kitchen remodels. In fact, one type of smaller project that is most often linked to a kitchen remodel is the re-creation of a back entry that replicates the back halls commonplace in today’s newer homes.” Cash only at the sites, please Advance Tickets $8 per person at: The Metropolitan Builders Association Weather-Tek Design Center Associated Bank While on the Tour, cast your vote for your favorite project. Remodeling the Main Bath on the 2nd floor was also included. The Master Bath was the main focus with the goal to incorporate both a relaxing bathing area as well as spa like shower. With 2 entrances being used and having multiple users, it was also important to create a private commode area and add a second sink. The enlarged Cherry vanity, featuring a pull-out that was custom designed for a hair dryer and curling iron, is from StarMark. The linen cabinet, medicine cabinets and storage in the commode are of the same. A unique application was incorporating some cherry trim into the tile layout at the bath area with the decorative tile including glass and metal. Kohler products were used throughout: Devonshire oil rubbed bronze for faucets and shower components, Devonshire Comfort Height Toilet and Sunward 6’ Bubblemassage Tub. The shower features Kohler’s Watertile Body Sprays and Water Tile Rain Head along with a multi-function hand held shower, recessed tile cubbies and a toe shelf for shaving. 7722 Geralayne Circle, Wauwatosa Directions: From Wisconsin Avenue, turn North onto 77th Street.
