Dr. Barbara Selwa Dear Ones, Once there was a man named Georgio who owned an ice cream parlor and made his own ice cream, which was Once there was a man named Georgio who owned an ice cream parlor and made his own ice cream, which was deemed delicious from far and near. When Georgio got almost to the bottom the big vats he stored his ice cream in, he deftly mixed the remains into colorful cross flavors, such as banana/lime and blueberry/peach. These, too, were accepted by his customers, who would ask him, "What is this flavor?" and, "I've never encountered this strange new flavor." Remember, my dear ones, that we discussed in another article the emergence of such "strange flavors" when meeting the inner debris of casting off Earth pseudo truths. You progressed spiritually to the beginning of manifesting through God contact. You have obtained much success. But, suddenly out of nowhere comes a mysterious new problem in your life. It is full of snags -- and places these in your daily life. It may knock your finances down. It may emotionally push you to the brink. What is going on, you ask? How does this process work? Read complete article A Letter From Our President Rev. Charlotte McGinnis Namasté, Fellow Ministers! You may be familiar with the quote, "The only thing that is constant in life is change." I am noticing that in my life, as well as the lives of most people I know, change is more constant than ever. We are also witnessing change in our world systems that are happening at lightning speed. As you all have noticed, our ministry has been going through extreme changes as well...and they are all in divine order. (Even though it doesn't always seem that way!) We have recently cancelled our contract with Church Shield, the organization that has been managing our account for the past several months. Although we felt this was an ideal situation for us, they were unable to keep up the account. I want to make clear that they are a wonderful organization, and that they have been open and honest with us and in the highest of integrity. We were a square peg in a round hole for them, as we are not a typical "Church" organization. I thank them for their efforts! ...Read the complete article ADL Update Rev. Dr. Becky Rector Letters with stickers are being mailed. Thank you for paying your dues. If you have not yet paid your dues, please pay now to avoid late fees. Happy almost Fall season, ADL Ministers! This is the time to reflect on the leaves that we have had on our trees in life as they gently fall away. Notice the beautiful colors falling, and reflect on what they represent in your life. What is falling away, to make way for the new? What are you ready to shed this year? This year has been filled with growing opportunities in so many of our lives. Now is the time to reflect on these lessons, and how we have done. Now we honor the most important person to honor--our selves. Our teachings are all about finding what is truly the Greatest Degree of Love for all. Often, we leave out honoring our selves. It is important to honor our commitments to ourselves. Honor our agreements to meditate and pray more, live healthier lives, focus on only positive things, and let go of lack and fear. When we commit to ourselves, we must honor that commitment. As we begin to see the leaves fall (or in more tropical states feel the energy of the fall), reflect back on this year as we go into the season of rest, followed by planting new seeds next spring. Wishing you all love and gratitude in The Greatest Degree of Love. Webmeister Musings Rev. Brian Crissey Please email your timely or timeless submissions by the 25th of the month here. Each chapter now has a permanent page at the national site where local news can be displayed. Timeless items, like papers and thoughtful expressions, are under the Newsletter menu, categorized by author. Timeless items are now being assigned keywords, in preparation for the publication of an annual anthology of the collected wisdom of the ministers of the ADL, which will be sold through the Store. A smart-phone app is planned as well, which will allow you to pull up timeless submissions by keyword, to serve as sermon starters. It might be called Sermonapp. If you would like to have a modest advertising presence for your ADL-related event, book, or center, you may buy a $15 spot ad in the next E-Newsletter, so as to partially cover our monthly expenses of bringing this newsletter to you. Example below. My thoughts this month are a bit frivolous, but perhaps a little fun. I wrote a short ghost story for the national Florida conference contest, neglecting to observe the word limit, which I thought did not apply to ghosts. Wrong. So I post it here. Enjoy! Marci Reardon "The Human Spirit" Multi-faith and Multicultural Library Collection Opened August 17, 2014 at the Plaza Branch of the Kansas City Library The Heartland ADL Revs. Mary and Greg McCoy's vision for The Human Spirit multicultural/multi-faith library collection began as a concept early in 2012-an idea that, in a city with the size and diversity of Greater Kansas City, everyone should have easy access to information that will help them to understand the rich diversity of faiths and cultures within the population of not only our local community, but our global community. In March, 2013, Mary and Greg's organization, Cultural Crossroads, received a "challenge grant" of $5,000 from the Shumaker Family Foundation to be awarded if a like sum was raised by September 1 of that year. Mary and Greg then instituted the Books That Build Bridges campaign to raise those funds, and, in August, 2013, hosted the appearance of Joseph Rosendo of Travelscope on PBS, as a fundraiser for the collection. Along with other appeals, Cultural Crossroads raised the funds necessary to meet the challenge grant, and over the next 10 to 11 months, worked closely with the staff and administration of the Kansas City Public Library System and faith directors of the Greater Kansas City Council (GKCIC,) to make the collection a reality.
