Buses leave about every 10 minutes from Stephenson Place, in Chesterfield town centre, so that patients and their relatives can change from their local services and go on to catch link services to the hospital. 80A 14 Going to hospital can be a stressful experience and with high demand for limited spaces as well as costly parking charges, using the car to get there can be an extra pressure. It’s convenient, great value and takes the strain out of your journey. You don’t have to worry about finding somewhere to park or having to find the correct change. And you’re leaving the parking spaces free for people who have no choice but to travel by car. 3 Bus service to Chesterfield Royal Hospital, Calow Chesterfield Street Service Chesterfield Number Departure Point Mon to Sat daytime frequencies in minutes (unless shown otherwise) 3 Stephenson Place 60 3A Stephenson Place 60 14 Cavendish Street 3-4 journeys per day 33 New Beetwell Street 60 46 New Beetwell Street and Stephenson Place 60 80 New Beetwell Street and Stephenson Place 30 80A New Beetwell Street and Stephenson Place 60 (evenings and Sundays only) 82 Stephenson Place 30 Hospital Chesterfield Street Moor Street Chesterfield Place railway station Chesterfield Street Chesterfield Place 19 Newbold Place 8 Spital 82 83 Chesterfield Place Chesterfield Place 15 Whittington Moor Chesterfield Place Chesterfield 7 Cavendish Street 85 Hopsice 33 80 Hospital 80A 83 46 47 Shirebrook 83 Stephenson Place 30 85 Stephenson Place 4-5 journeys per day (Mon to Fri only) 63 Whaley Thorns 120 60 (Mon to Fri only) 82 Cavendish Street 85 55 Langwith 25/11/08 11:10:27 34 34 SHEFFIELD 34 A62 1 A614 A619 A632 Clay Cross A60 29 75 A61 Kirkby in Ashfield 28 A6 A3 8 via M1 Hucknall 7 09 A6 RipleyFrom the South A617 Newstead Abbey 27 Belper A6075 Mansfield Sutton in Ashfield A615 From the East via A1 and Worksop A1 30 CHESTERFIELD A619 Matlock Worksop 16 A6 Chatsworth A57 M1 Staveley A6 1 Find out the time of your bus by calling traveline 0871 200 22 33 (7.00am to 8.00pm Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 8.00pm Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays). Chest_Hosp_Bus_8pp_(Nov08).indd 2 Step 2 Think about what kind of ticket you want to buy. • For single journeys the going rate fare may be the cheapest option. • If you’re travelling both ways, ask if there is a return ticket as this may be cheaper still. But check if the same company is running the return journey as this isn’t always the case and your ticket may not be valid on the service of a different operator. • If you’re making several journeys in a day or spread across a few weeks some kind of saver ticket may offer the best deal. Ask the driver on your first journey. • Bus operator Stagecoach Chesterfield offers day return tickets on services to Chesterfield which includes the cost of the connecting journey to the hospital. • If you are over 60, or have certain disabilities, and are a Derbyshire resident, you are eligible for a Derbyshire Gold Card. This entitles you to free bus travel after 9.30am up to 11.00pm weekdays and any time at weekends and bank holidays. It also gives you half fare train travel and free travel on community transport dial-abus services. • If you hold a Derbyshire student travel and discount b_line card2 card you qualify for half the adult fare. • You may be entitled to help with travel costs if you are receiving NHS treatment under the care of a consultant.
