Existing reservoir simulation projects accelerate significantly. It
provides assisted history matching, helping you manage your
history match, updating the match modifiers for you
intelligently and submitting runs for you while you are away
from your desk. The whole process commonly speeds up by a
factor of 4. The engineer’s time is liberated to develop an
understanding of reservoir mechanisms and their relative
impact on production behaviour.
EnABLE applies directly in your current workflow. But you get
a lot more from your simulation activities with EnABLE
supporting systematic revisions to any aspect of the model,
even facilities settings. Each simulation run adds to a statistical

INTERPRETATION
MODELING
EnABLE works one to one with Tempest-MORE and nearly all
other reservoir simulators. You drive EnABLE. EnABLE drives
the simulator and can even drive an RMS geomodel in a shared
earth modelling workflow, feeding back diagnostic information
to you. Simulation results are interpreted through an
interactive interface. The history match quality of each run is
measured. Plots of production performance for one run, many
runs or all the runs can be reviewed. User driven adjustments
subtly control the match, helping you to ensure focus on the
most physically significant observations.
The computer assistance provided by EnABLE makes it possible
to consider far more information when developing a history
match or sensitising an appraisal analysis. You move to a multirun world. Before EnABLE it was just too difficult to evaluate
all the aspects of the reservoir description that could have an
effect on the observed behaviour so engineers usually
restricted their number severely. With the help of EnABLE you
can evaluate large numbers of modifiers in a full physics
reservoir simulator with a few runs and let EnABLE help you by
deciding whether they matter. By harnessing the power of low
cost computing, it opens up new opportunities to understand
the field and to decide on the best plans in the presence of
uncertainty.

performance
Extracting a calibrated reservoir description from historical
observations is well known to be difficult and the process
of history matching can lead to many alternative reservoir
descriptions. In the past, considering the multiple matches
was just too difficult. With EnABLE supporting faster
history matching you can examine whether your field’s
inversion is well constrained and check whether it leads to
a small number of acceptable matches or many equally
acceptable ones. You then move seamlessly on to make
predictions and get confidence intervals about each
production scenario. Now you can decide whether to
acquire new data to discriminate between alternative
reservoir descriptions or proceed with your plan.
Each simulator represents broadly the same physics.
EnABLE supports multiple simulators and simultaneous
runs. Matches in one simulator can be quickly tuned up in
a new simulator.
You make models to make Predictions. EnABLE calculates
new properties from the simulator’s technical results so
that you can predict business as well as technical
outcomes. Then it can make statistical estimates of both
opportunities and risks. Or use results to optimize plans
against commercial objectives, like NPV or cash flow,
using knowledge generated with help from the
simulator.
EnABLE’s results allow reservoir engineers to give clear
numerical estimates to the petroleum economist or
reserves analyst.
