Road Map for achieving Housing For All
• MEPMA Telangana has been designated as State level Nodal
Agency (SLNA) vide G.O RT No 316, MA&UD (UBS) Dated:
13-08-2015 for the State of Telangana. Memorandum of
Agreement submitted to Mission Directorate MoHUPA for
participation in the Mission.
• The Budget allocation is Rs 179.03 Crores for 2015-16 to spent
on 37 selected Towns

Road Map for achieving Housing For All
• The Government of Telangana has launched Housing policy to
provide 2BHK house to all eligible beneficiaries.
• The Government of Telangana proposed to construct 72,000
houses for 2015-16.
• Each house will have 2 Bed Rooms, hall, kitchen and two toilets
(bath-cum-WC) with a plinth area of 560 Sq.ft. with an estimated
cost of Rs 5.30 lakhs
• An inventory of land holdings in cities shall be prepared to
constitute a land bank and prepare an asset management plan for
better management of the available land and targeting its supply
to create affordable housing dwelling units
HOUSING FOR ALL (URBAN) in Telangana State
SALIENT FEATURES:
1. Housing for All (HFA) dovetailed with 2BHK programme.
2. AHP component of HFA (Rs. 1.50 Lakh per Unit) dovetailed
with State grant of Rs. 3.80 Lakh per DU of 2BHK and Rs.
0.75 Lakh per DU towards infrastructure.
3. Each house / Flat costing Rs. 5.30 Lakh.
4. Cost of Infrastructure Rs. 0.75 Lakh per DU.
5. Pattern of Construction : G+1 to G+9 depends upon the Land
availability.
6. Land : Government Land / Existing Slums / LA if necessary.
7. HFA in Urban areas (68 towns) of Telangana State implemented
from 2015-16 to 2021-22 (7 years period).
Housing For All & 2 BHK Program
Government of Telangana have committed for dignity of the poor by
providing Two-Bed room house with infrastructure facilities to all
the poor families.
SAILENT FEATURES:
All colonies will be in Government land / Existing slums and
land acquisition, if necessary.
Flats of 560 Sq.ft plinth area in G to G+9 pattern in Urban
areas
Each house will have Two-Bed rooms, Hall, Kitchen and two
toilets with plinth area of 560 S.ft (it includes area of staircase
and common area in G+ structures).

Selection of Beneficiaries
• In respect of In-situ slums, the existing slum dwellers are
accommodated.
• Additional units constructed in the slum are allotted to the other
slum dwellers by following the guidelines issued vide

Consultation process with residents of slums
• Counselling is being done by an NGO, Engineers and
Community Development staff for creating awareness among
the residents of slums with an objective to address the fears,
doubts and apprehensions on the Double Bed Room Scheme
and to convince them to allow construction of 2 BHK houses
in their areas in G++ pattern.
• Feed back from slum residents is taken in regard to drinking
water, drainage, electricity, parking and other civic related
facilities in their areas.
Consultation process with residents of slums
• About 30 members from Engineering wing, Community
development wing and NGO visit the slum.
• Initially a public meeting is organized with the residents in
the slum to share the concept of 2 BHK.
• Later, a group of 2 members visit each household in the slum
and collected the household data.
• Arranged exposure visit to residents of slums to IDH colony
for getting clarity and more confidence on the proposed
project.
• Consent is obtained from the individual Households.
