Saturday, March 31st marked our first event of the year which
went off without a hitch. Detroiters trickled in & out of the WIAA
throughout the day for the Caribbean Extravaganza. Informative
presentations were given for each Caribbean country. The
younger attendees enjoyed soccer demonstrations and a short
trivia competition where they were able to win prizes. The Taste
fest offer wonder dishes liked Jamaican beef patties & jerk
chicken.
The evening Unity Dance had everyone on the dance floor or
moving to the heavy beats of soca, reggae, and dancehall spun
by WD and Infinity Sound. The party lasted well into the wee
hours of the night.
Look out for many more CCCO events to come through out the
year. Special thanks goes out to WIAA, WD, and Infinity.
