PechaKucha Night
Hosted By Proof Design Studio
PechaKucha Night will feature presentations on creative
ideas, local projects and musings. Devised in Tokyo by
Klein Dytham Architecture, PechaKucha (the Japanese
phrase for “the sound of chitchat”) started as a night
for creative people to meet, network, and discuss their
projects. The catch: each person gave a presentation
containing only 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds,
for a total presentation length of six minutes 40 seconds.
These constraints challenged presenters to clarify their
ideas and match each thought with the perfect image.
More than 50 presentations have been given at Galway
PechaKucha Nights to date on wide-reaching topics,
from Restoring Castles to Shock Advertising to Hoovering
In Space and everything in between.

Baby With The Bath Water
Orion’s Belt Theatre
Baby with the Bath Water is a dark comedy about how
difficult it is to be a parent and how equally challenging it
is to grow up in a dysfunctional family. The play is written
in an absurdist, playful style and for all it’s dark topic, has
a hopeful ending. If you think you are a bad parent...
you’re not even close.

Sideshow’s Sideshows
Sideshow Productions
Sideshow have ploughed through the backrooms and
half stages throughout the country to find the quaint, the
strange and the great unheard. Donal McErlane presents
the story of the despicable landlords agent who became
a hero and inspiration for the song ‘The Gallant Michael
Hayes’. Tom Walsh whose unpopular and subversive
bad comedy has expressed his experience of hope in
the form of a TedTalk. This mixed with musical oddities
from Ghosties, interruptions by sideshow favourites Greg
Chuckles and Dangerman and further songs and heckles
from unannounced guests will make for a thoroughly WTF
experience. Sideshow’s stamp of approval.

Breakdown
Morgan O’Brien
Morgan O’Brien is a Galway based freelance artist working
primarily in the fields of Illustration, Design and Animation.
In a stark departure from his more recognizable children’s
illustrations, 2012 Galway Fringe Artist Morgan O’Brien
presents a micro-exhibition of traditional abstract collages.
‘Breakdown’, a body of work which has never before been
seen in public, utilizes found/collected print materials
and through a process of deconstruction/reconstruction
reinvigorates said materials with a new lease of artistic life.
The pieces featured in this intimate collection are a small
sample of a larger body of work started in 2007.
