They have a mascot called Parky The Pig that is used to promote children’s banking. For a number of years, when a child opened an account with them, the child would receive a piggy bank in the shape form of Parky. These banks were about 3” tall and made from a ceramic material (not very kid-friendly), and they were also very costly. We decided to look into other ways of producing a “Parky” piggy bank that would be more cost effective, larger in size, and made from a softer material. For as few as 1,000 pieces, they were able to reduce the price by $2 per piece. Handsomely debossed with their company logo, they were sent with the travel documents inserted after reservations were confirmed. After an initial order of 1,000 pieces, bookings increased 24% and an additional 3,000 pieces were ordered. SELLING IDEAS: Resorts and hotels, travel and tour operators, airlines and tourism boards. AS LOW AS $12.50 (c) 10 | RUBIK’S ® 9-PANEL FULL CUSTOM CUBE Rubik’s® 9-Panel Full Custom Cube PL-4690 Gorton’s Fish Sticks wanted to promote their products with the slogan “Trust Gorton’s To Solve Dinner!” After consulting with Prime’s inside sales department, the distributor sold them the PL-4690 Custom Rubik’s® 9-Panel Full Cube. With 6 different full-color custom designs imprinted on each side of the cube, they sent the message that their products are the solution to dinner. Each cube was individually shrink-wrapped, inserted into a custom-printed gift box, and mailed in a custom-printed and fitted mailing box. The cubes were sent to consumers who sent in 5 proofs of purchase of Gorton's products. After an initial order of 25,000 cubes, the promotion was deemed so successful an additional 29,000 cubes were ordered. SELLING IDEAS: Promotions that tell a story, financial institutions (mergers and acquisitions), health care and themes such as problem solving and nostalgia. AS LOW AS $5.05 (c) | 11 STYLUS/BALLPOINT PEN FOR TOUCHSCREEN MOBILE DEVICES Stylus/Ballpoint Pen for Touchscreen Mobile Devices PL-4255 With most of its students using mobile devices, a large university developed a special app that would deliver college news and events to students and faculty. They wanted a useful way of promoting the use of this app imprinted with the slogan “Stay Connected” along with the web address for downloading the app. The Stylus/Ballpoint Pen for Touchscreen Mobile Devices was chosen for its’ sleek look and functionality. It was handed out at class registrations and at the bookstore. By the end of the first month of the new school year, 98% of students had downloaded the app. The following year the university doubled their order for the pens.
