2016 VS. Princecraft Construction Exposed Underdeck Wiring Underdeck wiring problems are the number 1 cause of dissatisfaction in boating. All under-deck wiring on a Bennington is routed through protective conduit. Princecraft has some unprotected wire through their decks. BENNINGTON PRINCECRAFT Reinforced Bow Radius Channels Bennington bow decks and corners are reinforced with a 3” tall 1/4" radius bow channel that supports the heavy-gauge anodized aluminum bow trim. Stronger than bow corner castings, they are less susceptible to damage. Princecraft has zero structural bow corner protection. A brittle aluminum casting is used to conceal the plywood deck. BENNINGTON PRINCECRAFT 2016 VS. Princecraft Construction Fasteners Bennington fastens the deck to the cross-channels with high grade stainless 1” head fanged elevator bolts with nylock nuts. This design gives the deck unrivaled rigidity and holding power. Pop Rivets like those used by Princecraft do not have the strength or holding power to hold the deck rigid and prevent deck ex. BENNINGTON PRINCECRAFT Anodized Welds Bennington welds our fencing before it is anodized. Princecraft uses pre-anodized aluminum fencing which is then welded. Welding after anodization creates a weak weld and also creates black marks on the weld. They then paint the weld to hide the discoloration. Over time the paint fades revealing the blackened weld. BENNINGTON PRINCECRAFT 2016 VS. Princecraft Construction Corner Castings Bennington’s stainless steel castings are three times stronger than aluminum castings and are included in the lifetime warranty. The weak aluminum castings used by Princecraft will pit, corrode, and discolor over time. BENNINGTON PRINCECRAFT M Brackets Bennington’s extruded M brackets are thicker and stronger than bent thin sheet aluminum brackets used by Princecraft. We space our deck brackets wider and lower, with 4 points of contact, greatly reducing the amount of twisting and racking the deck can experience. BENNINGTON PRINCECRAFT 2016 VS. Princecraft Construction Bimini Top Bennington’s quick release .08” thick bimini tops raise and lower in seconds with our patented quick-release ttings designed to eliminate all rattles. Princecraft’s thin and weak bimini frame has a great chance of binding and breaking. BENNINGTON PRINCECRAFT One Piece Fiberglass Console Bennington’s berglass console is 1 piece. Princecraft’s is 2 pieces, which, after being exposed to the wind and water will come apart over time. Pricecraft also has exposed wiring on the outer part of the console, as well as no door for storage. BENNINGTON PRINCECRAFT 2016 VS. Princecraft Construction Rail Spacers Bennington uses rail spacers to separate the deck from the rails. This allows air to get under the rails to dry out the deck, ooring, and underneath the seats. Princecraft does not have these, which will allow mold and mildew to grow on continually wet surfaces. BENNINGTON PRINCECRAFT Rattle Free Panels Bennington’s rail system is a solid, rattle free structure thanks to supportive aesthetics and a resilient sealing strip that’s placed between each panel and railing touch point. Tap on Princecraft panels and you will hear metal on metal contact. Vibrations from the engine will cause the panels to rattle while the boat is underway. BENNINGTON PRINCECRAFT
