are pleased to announce the
2015 Havana Biennial Art & Culture Tour!
Since 2001, Creative Currents Artist Collaborative has
brought together individuals interested in the arts and
cultures of Africa and the Black Diaspora in order to explore
and create. We engage our mission by connecting artists,
scholars and arts enthusiasts with exciting and varied artsbased cultural experiences and by supporting and creating
sustainable communities within which the arts can be lived
and celebrated.
For 25 years, Hammonds House Museum has been a mecca
for people seeking inspiration, interaction, and intellectual
stimulation centered on art of the African Diaspora. The
Museum has redefined the experience of art by providing
thought-provoking exhibitions and cultural events in an
environment that is at once comfortable, mind-expanding,
and uniquely attuned to the interests and needs of patrons
of every age.
During the Havana Art Biennial trip, participants will
explore the art and culture of Cuba, it’s people and history. In
addition to the Biennial activities taking place in traditional
and alternative spaces throughout the grand old city of
Havana, participants will enjoy the colonial architecture
found at every corner, live music and dance performances,

paladares, and person to person interactions with Cuban
artists, scholars and locals.
On the Havana Biennial Art & Culture Tour we will immerse
ourselves in Cuban life with walking and bus tours of Havana
neighborhoods. We will vibe with the youth of the Cuban Rap
Association. We’ll take a ferry ride across the bay to Regla
