2013 PPA Brochure 8.5x11.ai - Pennsylvania Parking Association
PENNSYLVANIA PARKING ASSOCIATION Whether planning for the occasional Amish buggy or football game day overflow issues, the parking experts in Pennsylvania are up to the task. Streetscapes and garages all across the state of Pennsylvania are being designed to preserve historic character while using green, safe, inviting, and profitable features. No longer does “state of the art” have to mean futuristic, but it does need to meet current and future needs without compromising the rich heritage of Pennsylvania’s cities and institutions. The Pennsylvania Parking Association is pleased to participate in achieving this goal through our thriving membership base and ongoing commitment to our state and residents. MEMBER BENEFITS NETWORKING This is a great association for members to get to know one another, and seek information concerning their projects or services. Many have developed long-term personal and business relationships. The conference includes seminars, discussions, a golf outing, banquet dinner, exhibition by vendors, and presentations of awards for the Parking Design and Innovation competition. It’s a wonderful time to socialize, learn, and share. SPRING TRAINING The PPA hosts an annual Spring Training event in the central PA area. Attendees network over breakfast and coffee and enjoy two educational sessions. The day would not be complete without a little friendly competition on the golf course or a tour of a unique facility! GOLF OUTING Since 1993, PPA members have been enjoying community and fellowship through the annual golf outing. Traditionally, the outing takes place on the same date as the Annual Conference begins. MISSION To create an environment for parking professionals to share knowledge, enhance personal development, and network. VISION To positively impact the communities we serve. PPA BACKGROUND HISTORY The PPA began with its first meeting on December 11, 1985. The first conference was held in 1989 in Harrisburg. Since then, the conference has been held annually at cities across the state including State College, Lancaster, Harrisburg, Scranton, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Today we have over 130 members. The Association is considered one of the strongest and most active state associations, hosting an annual conference, golf outing, spring training session, a meeting at each IPI conference, and annual Parking Innovation Awards.
