Its qualifications are widely recognised and valued by both multinational and local business organisations. Some concessions apply to courses marked and some courses are eligible for loan financing (marked ). Students will need at least a GCSE Maths and English grade C or equivalent for AAT levels 2,3 and 4 and complete an additional application form. AAT Bookkeeping Level 1 This course is ideal if you are thinking of a change in career or if you run your own business and would prefer to do your own bookkeeping. It is also the first step onto a successful career in accountancy. It will give you a solid introduction to bookkeeping. It covers areas such as single entry bookkeeping, cash & credit transactions, financial documents & using spread sheets effectively. A one off student admission fee is payable to AAT (£41). There are four compulsory units which are: Financial Statements of Limited Companies; Management accounting: Budgeting; Management Accounting-Decision & Control and Accounting Systems and Controls. There will also be two additional units from the following - Business Tax, Personal Tax, Credit Management, External Auditing and Cash and Treasury management. In total there are five unit assessments and one synoptic assessment covering the compulsory units. This is a fast paced course which also requires a high level of written English. Upon completion, you will become an AAT affiliate member and, with relevant work experience, will qualify for AAT full membership (MAAT). You can also progress to higher professional qualifications such as ACCA and CIMA. Renewal of AAT membership costs may apply (£90) and course books (totalling approx. £100). The course will be helpful to those who are using, or are going to use, „counselling‟ or „listening skills‟ as part of their paid or voluntary work, as well as those wishing to know more about counselling or explore the possibility of training for a new career. It is an ideal introduction if you are considering working in this sector or progressing on to the Level 2 certificate. Counselling Certificate Level 2 This course provides learners with an array of knowledge, skills and techniques that are essential in counselling, as well as providing opportunities to develop their own personal qualities and attributes. The course leads to a nationally-recognised, Level 2 certificate in counselling skills which is ideal if you are interested in working with people or wish to progress to the additional training that you would need to practice as a counsellor. Counselling Certificate Level 3 This course builds on the Level 2 programme and takes a much more in depth look at how to develop counselling skills and the use of the varying theoretical approaches to counselling. It is ideal for learners who have already completed the Level 2 course or have had significant experience in working with people. This nationally-recognised, Level 3 qualification is a step closer on the path to becoming an accredited counsellor. Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Level 4 When combined with the Level 3 Counselling Certificate, this qualification meets the basic training requirement for recognition as a qualified counselor. This is a 2-year programme and students are required to find a suitable placement where they are able to conduct 100 hours of supervised counselling. Students will produce journals and learn from one another and the tutor to develop their understanding. You have recently followed a beginner‟s course or you have studied the language some time ago and wish to brush it up. You can construct a simple sentence and you can talk about present, past and future events. You have practiced the language regularly while on holiday or business or you may have studied the language up to a high level some time ago, but you have not practiced since. You are able to use past and future tenses with some confidence. You have recently followed a Higher Intermediate course or you studied up to an advanced level some time ago, but have not practiced since. You are able to converse well and discuss a topic without many errors. You have studied the language for several years. You have good grammar skills, but you may need to practice to build fluency. It is a relaxed course with emphasis on learning in an enjoyable and supportive way, and includes basic maths skills such as adding, subtracting, doubling and halving in practical situations, recognising sequences of numbers, using scales and understanding simple 2D and 3D shapes. Both theoretical and practical, the course is a good introduction to photography and to further progress to qualification level. All students will need to bring their own Digital SLR camera. Photography Level 1 Award This course is an ideal progression from the Digital SLR Introduction course. Students will develop a set of practical skills using their own digital SLR camera, explore techniques, photographic equipment and materials. In addition to completing individual portfolios, students will also learn how to manipulate images to work towards the Level 1 qualification. Photography Level 2 Certificate This course develops students‟ photographic skills further and expands on the use of photographic equipment, techniques and resources. You will be able to develop and adapt your own photographic ideas and learn about the photo imaging industry. Students will produce a portfolio of creative photographic outcomes with commentary, featuring a variety of techniques such as different lighting and compositional elements. It is also very useful for anyone involved in a training role in business or industry. You do not have to be teaching already to do the course and no teaching hours are required outside of the class. This is an excellent introduction to teaching. Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (previously CTLLS) The Certificate follows on from the Award qualification and develops your skills in relation to the role and responsibilities of the teacher or trainer within the Lifelong Learning sector. It is ideal for those in a part time teaching role looking to progress to the Diploma or Certificate in Education/PGCE, or those already working in a training role. You will need to complete 30 hours of teaching / training practice concurrently with the course and dedicate time outside of class to assignments (arranged independently). Applicants will need a minimum of a Level 3 in their subject area, or employer endorsement, and it is recommended to have the Level 3 Award/PTLLS.
