Busworx Blue Bird and Mobile County Team Up for
First Propane Fleet in Alabama
Busworx Blue Bird recently teamed up with Mobile County Schools to provide the very first propane powered
bus fleet in the state of Alabama! Mobile County purchased 85 buses total through Busworx Blue Bird; 30
propane powered buses and 55 diesel powered buses. Pat Mitchell, Director of Transportation for Mobile
County Schools, says “After seeing school districts across the country successfully switch their school bus
fleets to propane, we knew it would work for Mobile County, too. When it came down to running a safe, clean,
and efficient fuel, propane seemed to be a perfect fit.” On local Busworx Blue Bird team and products, Pat
continues, “The [Busworx] Blue Bird professionals took the time to educate my team, making our conversion
process a smooth transition. Without a doubt, Blue Bird has a proven product! We are excited about our new
buses!”
The list of benefits to utilizing propane-fueled vehicles is extensive. First, propane buses are estimated
to have an annual fuel savings of $7,000 per bus! In a fleet of 50, that is $350,000 in cost savings in fuel
alone per year! In addition, propane is a safer, cleaner, and a more efficient fuel than the traditional dieselrun buses. The buses are also much
quieter.
Steve Phillips (Corp. Bus Sales
Manager) and Adam Franklin (Bus
Sales Coordinator) agree that Blue
Bird’s propane powered bus is quite an
impressive product. Steve says, “We
have definitely had skeptics, but every
school system that has seen and driven
the propane powered Blue Bird Vision
has decided to strongly consider them.”
He says he has shown the bus to at
least 10 schools and all have said they
plan to include at least some propane
buses in their next bid. We expect to
see a substantial increase in propane
bus sales over the next year.

Customer Corner
Billy Barnes Enterprises
B
Monroeville, Alabama
illy Barnes Enterprises, Inc. was started by Billy Barnes
in 1975 as a woodchip hauling business in Monroeville,
AL. The company has since grown to around 210 employees
and includes a flatbed division, woodchip hauling division,
and a specialty hauling division, all operating primarily in
the Southeast. The company has always been family-owned
and operated and Billy Barnes’ stepson, Terry Kilpatrick,
has been the president and owner since 2005. Terry started
with the company in 1979 after 5 years in the military and
began to learn all aspects of the business. He says the
company has enjoyed steady growth for the majority of
the time it has been in business. They pride themselves
on treating their customers well and very seldom lose a
customer. In fact, they still do business with the company they originally started hauling for back in 1975,
Harrigan Lumber. Billy Barnes Enterprises, Inc. runs a fleet of around 180 trucks, mostly Internationals, but
Terry says he wanted to try something different this time, and recently purchased 2 Kenworth T680 day cabs.
So far, he says they are running great and the drivers really seem to like them. He has two more T880s on
order, as well.
Terry and his wife have five children. Two of his kids, Taryn and Bryan, as well as his nephew, Luke,
also play key roles in the company. Outside of the office, Terry says he enjoys spending time with his family
and his 2 grandkids. They are expecting a third grandchild in November. He and his daughter, Taryn, are also
active with a group called Grace to Ukraine that hosts orphaned children in Alabama for summer camps and
provides materials for orphanages in Ukraine. They recently returned from a 10 day mission trip and will host
a group of children this summer.
Wade Rolison Trucking
Butler, Alabama
R
olison Trucking Company is a logging company and
committed Truckworx customer based in Butler, AL. The
company purchases standing timber (timber deed or pay
as cut), harvests timber (select cut, thin pine plantation,
and clear cut), grinds debris, and also works in forestry
consulting and biomass recovery. The owner, Wade Rolison,
initially started trucking in 1982 and later bought his first
1985 Kenworth W900L and business took off. In 1999, he
and his father went into business together and purchased
his first multi-fleet including four W900Ls. In 2005, the
company started logging with one crew and four trucks
and have been hauling ever since. Previously, Wade added
Peterbilt trucks to his fleet but quickly made the switch
back to Kenworth because of the level of service and resale value. He also continues to choose Kenworth
because he has formed a great partnership with Andrew Wiggins and actually was the first customer in the
area to try two new T880s. Today, the company has grown to 20 trucks and 4 crews. Wade says his favorite
trucks are his W900Ls and that he is partial to them because he has the most experience with them and
they’ve been around the longest. Outside of logging, Wade, his wife, and his son are active members in their
church and he enjoys kickball, baseball, hunting, and fishing.

boys, and Linley participates in gymnastics year round.”
Message from the President
The first quarter of 2014 has proven positive results for our industry and company.
Unemployment rates are the lowest we have seen in the last five years and the
economy is improving. Total Sales for Truckworx are up 10% over our first quarter
results of 2013. Customers are replacing their aging equipment and for the first
time we are seeing signs of fleets growing their businesses. In addition, the
vocational segment is starting to come back for the first time in over 6 years, we
have several mixer and dump trucks sold and on order in Alabama and Mississippi.
Our Bus division has exploded; we have delivered 114 new Bluebirds year-to-date
from a grand total of 78 delivered in all of 2013. These are extremely positive and
exciting trends for our industry and company.
With competition at an all-time high and reliability of emissions related components beginning to be the focal point for
our customer’s decision making process, our future success depends on meeting and/or exceeding our customer’s expectations
at every given opportunity. The challenge will be great but the reward will be greater! I am proud of the TEAM we have in
place for Equipment Sales, F&I, Parts, Service and all Administrative divisions. By continuing to do things RIGHT for the RIGHT
reasons, we will meet and exceed our customers’ expectations and create an environment in which they feel comfortable
conducting business!
As always, I want to personally thank each and every one of you. Thank you for your hard work, your dedication and
the time you give to make Truckworx a name people remember for the RIGHT reasons!

at church. She also likes going to the beach and the
lake and likes to learn new things.
Aaron worked at TempStaff for about 7 months
before joining the Jackson parts team. He wanted
to work at Truckworx for job stability and the
ability to advance. He attended Richland High
School focusing in biology. He currently lives in
Richland with his dog, Bear, and enjoys running.
Chad Cauthen
Service Technician
Montgomery, AL
Before coming to Truckworx, Chad worked for
Stephen’s Service Center and Automotive Repair
as a service manager for three years. He says
he wanted to work for Truckworx because he
always liked big trucks. Chad attended Stanhope
Elmore High School and continued on to Auburn
University where he studied business and preengineering. He currently lives in Milbrook, AL
with his wife of 2 ½ years, Erin, and has two kids:
Chelsie (9) and Landon (5 months). They also have
a dog, Noodron.
Mike Norwalk
Service Technician
Dothan, AL
Mike joined our Dothan service team from Fedex,
where he worked for two months before coming
to Truckworx. He says he was interested in working
for Truckworx because of the good benefits,
retirement, and insurance. He attended Dale
County High School and continued to Nashville
Auto Diesel College where he learned to be a
diesel technician. He currently lives in Newton,
AL and loves to hunt, fish, camp, and ride four
wheelers.
Regina Parks
Delivery Driver
Tuscaloosa, AL
Regina comes to our Tuscaloosa location from
Carquest, where she was a delivery driver for
almost 2 years. She decided she wanted to come
to Truckworx/Napa because she likes the family
atmosphere and has heard it is a great company to
work for. Regina grew up in the Tuscaloosa area and
now lives in McCalla, just outside of Birmingham.
She and her husband, Ross Mize, have been married
for 4 years and they have 4 kids: Christopher (18),
Christan (17), Haley (15) and Kaley (15). They also
have two dogs named Mia and Ice. When Regina is
not working, she enjoys mud riding four wheelers or
going to the beach with her family.

Foods that Make You More Attractive
We all know that eating healthy can help us lose weight and have more energy. But did you know that some foods
can specifically make you more attractive in a matter of days? Research has discovered 10 simple foods that do
just that! Bite into this nutrient-filled fare and watch the transformation take place in front of your eyes!
• Kiwi: Packed with vitamin C which stimulates collagen production to give you firm, elastic skin.
• Green Beans: Filled with silicon to make your hair stronger and thicker, also great for a snack at work!
• Watercress: Gives you the antioxidants and iron needed to increase your glow. Throw in a salad or a
Chinese dish!
• Apples: If you’re big on coffee or wine, apples are the best way to keep stains off your teeth. Drink up guiltfree, but follow up with an apple.
• Eggs: Rich in biotin for strong, healthy nails. Have them poached, over easy, or scrambled, but make sure
you eat them!
• Pumpkin Seeds: Great for blemishes due to their zinc content. A few tablespoons a day will clear your
face fast.
• Spinach: Best way to make your eyes brighter and whiter, especially if you’re not getting enough rest.
• Flaxseed: Full of Omega-3 fatty acids to hydrate your skin, keeping it soft and smooth. Sprinkle them on
a salad or add to your oatmeal or yogurt.
• Oysters: Great for boosting collagen production and even promotes wound healing.
• Papaya: High in vitamin C to decrease the likelihood of wrinkles. Buy it fresh for a salad or frozen for a
tropical smoothie.
