In this email you will find all the Tournament Information you need to know -‐ please take time to read it all. We are working on translating this into Spanish and will post on our website. Each person will receive an 2015 IWFFA membership card and IWFFA patch (which you can iron on your shirts) There will not be an official registration meeting on Friday Honduras Panteras -‐ Dayana & Lucero come to hotel:Colonial Zona 1 -‐ to register the Honduras Panteras -‐ 1PM (3PM -‐ After the Hondurans register -‐ they will go out with the Gladiadoras to Antiqua Guatemala) El Salvador Cuscatlecas -‐ Arrives to Guatemala on Saturday Morning at 6.30 AM. 8 AM They will register at field The Guatemala Gladiadoras -‐ will register on Thursday evening -‐ after their flag football training Loose Women's Team -‐ will register on Thursday evening and at the field at 8 AM Every player must be registered and checked off their team roster before they can play. Tournament registration (your $15 in cash ) pays for: • Tournament fees • Bus transportation throughout the tournament (you must be ON TIME!) : • Saturday morning from hotel to field @ 6.30 AM • From field to hotel @ 5.30PM • Hotel to Sat. Night Party @ 8PM • Sunday hotel to field @ 6.30AM • Sunday Field to Awards @ 11.30AM • Sunday Awards to hotel @ 2PM • Lunch on Saturday -‐ baked chicken, salad and rice -‐ 2PM (Schedule Break everyone will eat together at same time) • Water at the field for both days of games -‐ Saturday and Sunday pg 1 of 4 Bus Transportation will pick up travel teams at their hotels: (if this is not correct contact Melissa Dayana soon) Honduras -‐ hotel Colonial Zona 1 at 6.30 AM and take to the field -‐ be ready outside your hotel and on time! Phone to taxi +502 4288 4486 (in case you miss the bus - you have to pay for your own taxi) El Salvador -‐ Hotel Villa Deportiva -‐ Zone 5 (They will not need tournament bus transportation on Saturday morning from hotel to the field, because they come straight to the field from El Salvador) Saturday Night Party 5.30 PM -‐ Once games are over on Saturday -‐ The tournament bus will take teams back to their hotels El Salvador hotel is: Villa Deportiva -‐ zone 5. Honduras Panteras at hotel Colonial Zona 1 8PM -‐ The tournament bus will pick up the teams outside their hotels at 8.00 PM to go to Paseo Cayala where we can eat at TACO BELL -‐ tonight is Halloween celebration -‐ it may be too difficult to eat at other restaurants because there will be lot's of parties in those restaurants 10PM -‐ Following the dinner we will have 3 team competitions! 1) Toilet Relay Race -‐ teams of 4 run around the plaza to buy a soda, get exact change, receipt & cross finish line 2) Beer drinking contest -‐ each team player who wants to join, will drink a glass of beer, then the next player, then the next player and the first team to finish their beer -‐ wins (actually everyone wins, because we provide the beer : ) 3) IWFFA Dance Challenge Contest -‐ Each team will dance to the IWFFA theme song and the best dance wins! (you can see some team dances already posted on Facebook: "On the Air with the IWFFA" The bus will take teams back to their hotel -‐ we don't know what time yet Sunday Morning the bus will pick up @ 6.30 -‐ BE ON TIME and wait outside your hotel Honduras Panteras at hotel Colonial Zona 1 at 6.30 AM and take to the field El Salvador hotel is: Villa Deportiva -‐ zone 5 at 6.30 AM and take to the field 11.30 AM -‐ After the championship game -‐ tournament bus will take teams to the Awards Celebration 12:00PM -‐ The Awards will be at : Taco Bell at Calzada Roosevelt, Guatemala 2PM -‐ Tournament bus will take teams to their hotels At the Field -‐ If you have a Tent, Chairs to sit -‐ bring it. In case it rains -‐ bring umbrella, rain coat. VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION • Make sure you have some food with you: nuts, fruit in case you get hungry during your stay and have food for breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday. • Put the tournament contacts phone, email into your cell phone -‐ so you can communicate during tournament with any questions • Make sure your battery for cell phone is fully charged • Do not be LATE! Games will run exactly on time, Bus Pick Ups will run exactly on time. If you miss the bus, you must provide YOUR OWN TRANSPORTATION! Here is phone to taxi +502 4288 4486 • Read the IWFFA rules before the tournament pg 2 of 4 Chain Gang -‐ Each team is responsible to hold the chains when scheduled. 3 persons are needed. See the tournament schedule to know when your team is responsible to hold the chains. One Official Per Team for the Tournament Each team is to provide one official to officiate during the tournament. We welcome as many players to officiate and encourage women to take this opportunity to get on the field and learn to officiate if you never did before. Team Photo -‐ Before your first game, make sure we have taken your Team Photo ! Action Shots / Social Photos -‐ If you take any tournament photos , please email us so we can post on website Score Cards -‐ Very Important Each team captain or coach should pick up their score card before each game, then fill in and return to Diane The score cards reports games scores, Most valuable player for offense and defense for your team and the team you played against. The score cards will rate the officials, select all stars. You may write any comments about the tournament on these score cards All Star Select Sheets Each team will receive an all star sheet at the field on Saturday. Please fill in any elite athletes you feel deserved to receive all star nomination. Give Diane your all star select picks first thing on Sunday morning. Before the championship game, we will have a meeting with each team representative to agree on who is picked for the all star offensive and defensive teams. Half Time Games At the tournament registration -‐ tell the tournament organizers which contests you wish to compete in. After each game on Saturday will be Half Time Games (in this order below): 1) Furthest Football Throw 2) Longest Kick 3) Tug A War 4) Longest Snap 5) Most Push -‐ Ups 6) longest punt Prizes to winners -‐ we have IWFFA tee shirts. Special Loose Women Rule -‐ Remember, if the Loose Women's team needs to borrow players from other teams during the tournament in order to have 8 players -‐ it is allowed (see IWFFA rules) The Tournament Schedule There are 4 teams in the tournament: every team is guaranteed 4 games El Salvador Cuscatlecas / Honduras Panteras / Loose Women / Gladiadoras USAC • Every team plays each other once -‐ in a Round Robin on Saturday there will be 3 games for each team • Sunday all teams are in the play-‐off and will be seeded according to round robin). Special Information to any player interested: KELLY MCGILLIS CLASSIC INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S & GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP & WORLD CHALLENGE -‐ January 26 -‐ February 1, 2016 The IWFFA is sponsoring a mixed Latin America team for this tournament, inviting 2 players from each country: Chili, Brazil, Venezuela, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras. The IWFFA will provide: Hotel, Uniforms, Equipment, Registration Fees, Transportation in Key West and Trainings. The World Challenge game is an International All Star Team vs USA All Star Team and is the last competition in the 3 day tournament.
