UO visiting artist series Peter Happel Christian Department of Art Hosted by Photography November 8, 6:00 p.m. Lawrence Hall, room 115 Through the intersection of photography, sculpture, performance and collaboration, Peter Happel Christian explores the natural landscape as a primary place of human action and reflection. This expanded practice allows him to examine photography as a fluid method of description and invention. Peter Happel Christian received his BFA from the University of Iowa in 1999 and his MFA from the University of Oregon in 2003. His work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States including a solo exhibition at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts in 2011. His work is in the collections of the Center for Creative Photography, Tucson, Arizona, the Tucson Museum of Art and The Midwest Photographer’s Project at the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago. Peter Happel Christian lives and works in Saint Cloud, Minnesota where he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Art at Saint Cloud State University.
