narcissistic feardom
We are guided by fear and narcissism. The constant anxiety of impairing ourselves and losing other’s admiration. The two intertwining,
controlling decisions made. Instigating other fears as we become
increasingly self-centred. Yearning for validation. Living and feeding
into a narcissistic culture where “selfie” is defined as word of the year.

STRENGTHS
WEAKNESSES
OPPORTUNITIES
THREATS
Holding a strong heritage as the oldest French couture
house, LANVIN holds value in its credibility to provide
femininity, beauty and youth. Under Alber Elbaz, it has
created a strong identity that allows women of all ages,
shapes and sizes to dress up and down. The ability to
introduce personalisation with every garment. Strong in
its wearability, quality and technicality.
The last Spring 2014 Collection lacked a clear Lanvin identity, loosing LANVIN’s asymmetrical silhouette. The LANVIN women has also remained largely
unchanged throughout the last 12 years; a women requiring protection for strength. Evolvement is needed in maintaining freshness for the brand, in tune to
the increasing insecurities of today’s individualised
women.
The freedom offered to Elbaz in Lanvin allows for growth and evolvement. Recognition
for his creative direction over the last
12 years also provides the opportunity to
challenge what is expected. The freedom to
conquer boundaries. To follow his intuition
without fear, doing what he wants.
Evolvement of the LANVIN women could threaten a complete loss of the LANVIN identity; as seen in last Spring
2014 Collection. Losing its recognised silhouette and its
strength as a collection of personalisation. Becoming too
unfamiliar and unwearable for the LANVIN women.

With a backdrop of a weeping willow during the show, the collection was based on getting back to
the roots of tradition. “Everuone
needs a tree”.
Elbaz’s 10 years anniversary collection focused on body enhancing
shapes. Providing the license fo
women to dress up & down.
“A collection about thinking...
It is about the world and women changing”, playing with words
such as help, happiness and love,
Elbaz explored the complexity of
today’s women.
Introducing a pragmatic on
sportswear, Elbaz embraced sex
with femininity. Inspired by the
beauty of modernity. Mixing day &
eveningwear
A new start after 10 years, Elbaz
worked on deconstructed classicism. “Purity and Precision, but
not about control and minimalism” with experimentation on the
“square”.
Varied silhouettes, this collection was distinguished by shine
and lameés. Elbaz defined it as “an
homage to the fabric industry”.
