Companies in Italy, several other SPE Sections of the
European Region and SPE headquarters in Dallas
¾ Issued on paper; electronic copies are also available on
the Section’s website
¾ Complete collection of the Bulletins on dedicated CD-Rom
is periodically updated and distributed at important Section

¾ Almost 30 advertisers: Technical Bulletin is the main font of income of the
Italian Section
¾ Technical Bulletin was born in 1988
Technical Bulletin
¾ Main sections of the Technical Bulletin are: Chairman’s
Editorial, Section News and Programs, Reports on
Prominent Events, Technical Articles and a long-running
series dedicated to the history of the oil industry in Italy
and the Mediterranean Basin and of the leading
protagonists of this history.
¾ Technical Bulletin also reports news on industrial and
professional developments related to the upstream
business in the country.
¾ Attached to the Bulletin is the “Styped Journal”, a magazine prepared by a
group of Young Professionals of the Section and addressed to all the Young
Professionals

¾ Alves Badini Award presented annually
for the best Technical Paper published in

¾ With 2009, the Award is at its 5th edition
¾ A dedicated plate is presented to the
winner at the summer social dinner
¾ Alves Badini was a prominent Italian oil technician who promoted SPE
Italian Section in the Pescara area. He died on May 22, 2004
