Facilitated work with clay engages sensory, perceptual, emotional, and cognitive channels that allow individuals to reach a deeper understanding of personal experiences. The creative process and the final work of art provide powerful means of communication and propel emotional healing at a quicker pace than verbal therapy alone. Therapeutic programs target the specific needs (e.g., grief, trauma, depression, anxiety, Alzheimer’s and dementia, cancer and other emotionally debilitating conditions) of both individuals and their families. However, art making is a health and wellness enhancing practice that positively impacts everyone. It is for this reason that SIWC also offers open enrollment art creation sessions for individuals or with family and other group members. SIWC’s founder and CEO, Abbie Kasoff, has degrees in art therapy and ceramics from the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, PA, and 25 years of experience working in the fields of social work and art therapy. Abbie has used her extensive network of relationships with the special needs community, school districts, human services organizations, and healthcare providers to grow SIWC’s clientele, focusing on economically and developmentally disadvantaged individuals. Throughout Abbie’s many years of experience, she has witnessed countless occasions of where clay has assisted so many amazing people with unexpected powerful positive outcomes. Abbie is extremely passionate about the work she does and is absolutely motivated by outcomes she believes are achieved through the power of hands on clay . sayitwithclay.org info@sayitwithclay.org 856-858-5994 SOLD ABBIE KASOFF Unconscious Risks CONGRATULATIONS On behalf of all of the staff at Say it with Clay, please accept our sincere congratulations for achieving our: OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY PARTNER AWARD We have created this award to honor organizations or people who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to fostering personal growth and creative expression through the power of clay.
