Flight details: Tuesday 15th March 2016 Depart Dublin 06:15, arrive Barcelona 09:45 Friday 18th March 2016 Depart Barcelona 21:15, arrive Dublin 23:00 Day 1 –Tuesday 15th March 2016 03.45 Assemble at agreed point in Dublin Airport Terminal 1. BE ON TIME!!! We will be going straight to security with our boarding passes. 06:15 Depart on your scheduled flight FR6875 from Dublin arriving into Barcelona airport 9:45 Arrive Barcelona . Airport – Terminal 2. We will be met by our Guide and the Eros coach and brought to central Barcelona. Full day of sightseeing in Barcelona. Some of the sights included are La Sagrada Familia Exterior, The Gothic Quarter and Cathedral, Passeig de Gracia which is one of Barcelona’s most magnificent streets, Casa Mila which is one of Gaudi’s most famous buildings in Barcelona. We will have lunch in Barcelona. 17:00 Depart Barcelona and transfer to our hotel in Salou. 19:00 Approximate arrival time at the hotel. Check in to Hotel Calypso. 20:00 Evening meal. Overnight at Hotel Calypso. • Day 2 –Wednesday 16th March 2016 Breakfast in the hotel. 09:00 Meet our coach and go to Tarragona for a full day excursion. While there we will visit the Cathedral for a brief walk about. We will then visit the old Roman part of the town with a tour of the Roman Amphitheatre, Roman Circus which was used to hold horse and chariot races and the Praetorium an old Roman Tower. Lunch in Tarragona. 17:00 Transfer to the hotel. 18:00 Evening meal at the hotel. 19:00 Meet the coach and transfer to Bowling Diverland. 19:30 Arrive at Bowling Diverland. 21:00 Meet our coach and transfer back to hotel. Day 3 Thursday 17th March Breakfast at the hotel. This morning the students can spend some time looking around Salou. 12:00 Lunch at the hotel instead of evening meal. 13:00 Meet our coach and transfer into central Barcelona for the day. 15:00 Visit the famous Cosmo Caixa Science Museum. Entrance to this is already included. There are interactive displays that allow the visitor to get involved at any stage. There’s an Amazon Forrest reproduction, a planetarium, and the fascinating Room of Matter, which attempts to explain anything and everything! Maremagnum Shopping Centre (beside the aquarium) features well-known names and brands and we’ll spend a while there so students can do some shopping or browsing. We will eat an evening meal here. 19:15 The Picasso Museum in Barcelona is a key reference for understanding the formative years of Pablo Picasso. We will have a guided tour and admission is free. 21:00 Meet our coach and return to Salou. Overnight at Calypso hotel and pack our bags! Day 4 – Friday 18th March 2016 Breakfast at the hotel. 9:30 After check out at the hotel we board our coach for Port Aventura for the day. Our luggage will be stored at the hotel for collection later. Entrance to the park is included. Lunch at the park. 16:00 Meet our coach and transfer back to the hotel to collect our luggage. 16:45 Load the luggage onto the coach and transfer to Barcelona Airport (BCN) 18:45 On arrival in Barcelona Airport Terminal 2, proceed as a group directly to security with our boarding passes. Important: If there are non-EU/EEA citizens travelling with a visa, the must get their travel documents checked and boarding passes stamped at the allocated Visa/Document Check Desk before going through security. 21:15 Depart from Barcelona to Dublin on Ryanair flight, FR6394 23:00 Arrive Dublin Airport – Terminal 1. Accommodation Hotel details: Hotel Calypso Salou Tel. +34 977 384 900 • • A deposit of €10 per student will be requested upon arrival at the hotel. This must be paid in cash. It will then be refunded upon departure provided that there is no damage done to hotel property. Tourist tax (to be paid in cash on arrival directly to the hotel): € 0.75 per person over 17 years of age per night. Insurance • All students are covered by DDLETB IPB insurance policy. and • Allianz Insurance bought by LCC at the beginning of the year for all students and • Insurance cover with School Tour Company Supervision • The students will be spilt into 4 groups with a designated teacher for each group. • Students will be in the same group for the entire trip. • Students will be closely monitored at all times. • Students will keep in groups of three when allowed independent activity rime. • Students will be expected to be in their own rooms by a designated time each night (10 pm) • School tour rules have been signed by student and parent. Passports • All students must double check that their passport is valid. • Passports will be collected from students on arrival in Barcelona. • Passports will be held in safe during time in Barcelona. Spending Money • We suggest that we limit spending money to €150 approx • Lunch on three days • One evening meal • Few other small costs • Students are to be extremely vigilant at all times with their money – pickpockets! Electronic Equipment • As in guidelines, students are responsible for their own electronic equipment. • Phones • Cameras Tour Guidelines • Normal school rules apply while on this trip. Good behaviour & co-operation are expected at all times. • Unacceptable behaviour will result in the student being sent home at their parent’s expense. • Students are responsible for their own money and belongings • Punctuality is very important, buses leave on time. • Students will keep in groups of 3 at all times. Each Team leader will have a group, students must listen and follow carefully to instructions given by Team or Tour Leaders. • All aerosols/cigarettes/alcohol of any kind are forbidden, a student will be sent home if this rule is broken. • Any medications must be declared and handed to group leaders prior to the trip. Tour Guidelines continued.. • While in accommodation students will be given some free time to mix, however students will go to their own rooms by 10pm each night. Students will be assigned a room with their friends. • Students are not permitted to leave the accommodation without permission. Rooms are to be kept tidy and bedroom doors are to remain unlocked at night. Students are not permitted to leave their room after 10pm. Lights out c.11pm.
