Biznet 9th Anniversary:
Positive Changes to Bring
Fresh Ideas
“Change is one thing in life that is constant”
That sentence is true and we all realized change is inevitable and constant.
Several people think differently of changes and not everybody like changes.
But if the change was done to make it better, then it is a positive change that
we all have to embrace and support. When there are no changes have been
made, it is more likely that people will become too comfortable and starting
to lose their creativity. We believe that changes are the driver to keep our
brain spinning and producing a lot of fresh ideas.
In Biznet Networks, our team always challenge ourselves with
changes. The changes done by the management team was
done to make us as a better company and provide a better
service to the loyal customers. It is also one of the reason why
Biznet Networks is so dynamic and always commited to create
innovation. We realized to maintain our customers, we should
always come up with fresh ideas in accordance with our vision
and mission.
In welcoming the 9th Anniversary of Biznet Networks, there are
several changes that we have done to maintain our company’s
existence. One of the implementation of our positive changes
is the new form of our quarterly newsletter. To keep the
customer informed with news and interesting informations, we
transform our quarterly newsletter into a quarterly Magazine
with a new edge called inspire. Flip through the pages and you
will see the new look and find more interesting information
and articles that is useful for you.
Changes not always happen in big things, there are also
positive changes that happen in small things. But never
8 | Oct 2009
underestimate the small things when it could lead to a bigger
things eventually. For example, the positive changes that we
done to maintain our corporate image is by exchanging the
employees uniform into a more hip and we add more details
into it. All of our frontliners, engineer, max3 store team and our
sales promotion girl are now wearing a new uniform. This idea
is to give a more professional look to all of Biznet team.
We are very determined to improve our service and provide
our customer with the best service. With that consideration,
we renovate our Customer Care Centre to accomodate more
professional Customer Care team. We conceive our customer
and put our best interest in their satisfaction. We believe that
all the changes that we are doing will simply bring a positive
vibe in our surroundings.
So, any positive changes whether in small things and big
things is always crucial and could determine the future of your
company.

Tips & Tricks
Did You Know?
Save bandwidth
by Avoiding
Attachments
Whenever
Possible
Maybe it’s hard to win an argument about saving bandwidth these
days. Still, the next time you’re about to send an email with large
attachments, think twice!
How “Private” is Your E-mail Address??
On the other hand, if you’re sending intranet email, it
maybe better to attach the file. This is because, unlike with
internet email, most intranet email does not have to travel
too far on slower links. Also, going out to the internet [from
your intranet] to get a file usually takes longer than getting
it from a local intranet email.
So what’s the downside? One day you might come home and
your email box may have more junk mail than your regular mail
box. While it’s difficult to completely stop your private email
address(es) being exposed to strangers, you can certainly try.
Don’t have the time to go to your favorite search engine to
find what you’re looking for?
Try typing “GO” followed by what you’re looking for in the
“Address” (or “Location” in Netscape) input box.
18 | Oct 2009
How fast is internet growing?? The result is very fast! It took 38
years for radio to reach 50 million users, 13 years for TV, and
only 5 years for the Internet.
(Source: CyberAtlas.com)
2. ‘Surfing in the Internet’
If the file you’re about to attach to your internet email can
be found elsewhere on the net, it maybe better to send
the address of that location rather than attaching a copy of
the file itself. If nothing else, this will save you some time
because your system doesn’t have to transfer the large
attachment. Also, your recipient(s) can decide whether
to download the file or not, where as if you had attached
it, they may not have any option but to take the time to
download it even if they don’t want to.
Search and GO!
1. Internet is growing very fast!!!
Would you place your home phone number in a place where
millions of people can see it without even turning a page? Well,
you maybe exposing your private email address to millions of
people every time you send an email, every time you download a
file from a FTP site, every time you subscribe to a mailing list or a
web page notification, every time you submit electronic forms, ...
(and the list goes on).
One way to handle this problem is to get a secondary email box
and use it to send mail to “public” places, while using your primary
email address to communicate with your friends and family. If
your secondary mailbox starts to receive too much junk mail, you
can simply close it or change it’s name. Many Internet service
providers (ISPs) give you the option to open a second mail box for
a one time fee. If your ISP doesn’t provide you with this option, ask
if they would at least create an alias for your existing mail box.

The p‑hrase “surfing the internet” first time came up in 1992 by
a man called Jean Armour Polly. Its funny that the phrase which
stands for the activity of browsing in the internet, was inspired
by picture of his mouse pad with a man who surfing at the
beach.

3. The First Network E-mail
Electronic mail or usually called e-mail, first time was
successfully sent among two machines by an engineer named
Ray Tomlison in 1972. The first message was sent between
two machines that were literally side by side. The only physical
connection they had (aside from the floor they sat on) was
through the ARPANET (first concept of communication and
sharing information on computers). The coolest thing is he also
putted the @ in sign in email which connect the username with
the destination address. It is really useful for everyone around
the globe until these days.

to deliver billion of data and multimedia every second.
(Source: electronics.howstuffworks.com)
5. What’s on the Internet??
The average person each month usually visits 59 domains,
views 1,050 pages averaging 45 seconds for each page and
spends about 25 hours a month doing this! Each surfing
session lasts approximately 51 minutes.

IBM first time announced the first hard disk in the world on
1956. In 5 MB capacity, it was only enough for one song in MP3
format and costs about $250.000.
Compare to the latest hard disk in 0.6 cm with 400 GB, we
should be thankful for what technology bring us to.

People will hear about fiber optic cable when talking about

Nana, her nickname, prefers eating and
watching as her enjoyment between
her busy lives. Culinary and cinema
are her interests and that is how she
spends most of her weekend. She loves
Makassar’s food, although she admits
that it is hard to find it in Jakarta. On
weekend, she often goes out to see a
movie at PH and follows by eating at
her favourite restaurant Mie Titi, one of
Makassar dish, at Pelangi Restaurant.
Nana hopes that in the future Biznet
can grow bigger and become the
leading Telecom Company in Indonesia.
Nana believes that with wide network
coverage and supported by best sales
and after sales service, Biznet can
improve itself and maintain its existence.
Nana always hopes for the best and
would be happy to give her best support
for Biznet success.

- Ping stands for Packet Internet Groper which created by Mike Muss in 1983
- ‘Ping’ inspired from active submarine sonar which usually makes ping noise as it meet an object.
- ‘Ping’ has the analogy when sending a package of data; it will receive a package of data too as a reply.
