Your energy, confidence and attitude are the currency that others will transact with. I know many who have settled for less, and simply “accepted” cards dealt because deep inside, they do not believe they deserve more. What are you worth, really? What are you worth to activities? When it comes down to REAL numbers how much do you SAVE the facility in staffing hours? How much do you SAVE the facility on FREE items? How much do you SAVE the facility in RESOURCES? So much time is spent wasted in discussing things that don’t really affect the residents or the quality of the activity program, it’s time to take the reins back, and start “tooting” your own horn. It is time for the recreation departments to start sharing with the administration the bottom line, the literal Value of your Activity Department, in numbers, resources. It is Quantity versus Quality, pure and simple.
