Newsletter 3 Welcome to a New School Year Students- Remember to greet the new kids in school. Be the example that honors your family and community. Do not allow yourself or your friends to bully others for the way they look, dress or speak. If you see bullying, or become a victim of bullying, please report it to a teacher or other trusted adult. Consider this, if he is a bully in high school, he may be a criminal in 2 more years, an abusive parent in 5 years and your next door neighbor in 10 years. Your future is determined by your own actions. Parents-watch you children for behavior changes. Sudden bad grades, sleeplessness, loss of interest in activities, mood swings, and depression, argumentative....are all possible signs of bullying - as the bully or the victim. Talk to your kids, listen to what they say, and know who they hang out with. If you suspect bullying, follow up on your instincts. A problem will not go away with wishful thinking. Residents-Remember, school time means there will be busses and kids on the roads. Use extra caution when driving and allow yourself extra time to reach your destination in case you get stuck behind a school bus. Watch out for children at bus stops and waiting near the roads, they are precious ‘little earthlings’!
