Youth ages 5 – 12 (Improv Camp is for ages 10 to 14)
Clay, tie-dying, jewelry, marbling, painting, improv performance and more. Sign up for
one or more weeks focused on a variety of creative themes like Art Rocks! Performing
Africa, Be-Jeweled, Amazing Animals and Museum Life.
Weekly camps run from June 13 through August 19

Carlisle Arts Learning Center’s (CALC’s) Summer Art Camp at Hope Station
5 to 12 years old
The art camp at Hope Station gets the creative juices flowing. Campers have fun working
with clay, paint, found objects and many other art materials. Camp includes lunch.

Authentic 7-day resident camp experience. Campers live in cabins with their peers and

TEENS Soldier Experience Living History Adventure Camp
Grades 7 – 10
Youth will experience the daily routine of soldiers as they trained to meet historical
challenges to the safety and security of the nation. Using the tasks, conditions, and
standards from historical training manuals, students will engage in realistic drills and
develop an understanding of the conflicts that shaped our nation’s history.

LEAF Project (Leadership Education And Farming)
14-18 years old
LEAF is a farm-based youth employment program in which youth work alongside farmers
and chefs in South Central PA. Youth develop essential employment and personal skills
while doing the meaningful work of raising food. Produce is sold to area restaurants,
donated into hunger relief, and used in a weekly cooking class with expert chefs. Youth
participate in a variety of workshops on food systems, social justice and leadership.
8 week Intensive Internship Program: June 16 to August 13

Check out the free summer programs and children’s activities at your public library. One library card allows you
full access to all eight libraries in Cumberland County. Each library features unique children’s book collections,
toys and spaces for kids and teens. Dive into their Summer Reading Programs!
• Amelia Given Library in Mt. Holly is an architectural gem and their summer programs are outstanding!
• John Graham Library in Newville has two phenomenal playgrounds directly behind it. Read and play!
• Bosler Memorial Library’s spacious children’s room in Carlisle has puppets and Legos galore!
• Shippensburg’s historic library is a delightful walk back in time— kids will love exploring the many rooms
just for them in this beautiful old house.
• Fredericksen Library in Camp Hill has a huge children’s floor with toys, games & CD listening stations.
• Simpson Library in Mechanicsburg has a spectacular puzzle collection and movies galore!
• New Cumberland has a small library and East Pennsboro has offerings too.
