Forest Preserve District of Will County 2014 Special Event District-Wide Sponsorship Opportunity Your contribution to the Forest Preserve District of Will County as a District-Wide Special Event Sponsor will help support the mission of the District, while maximizing exposure and driving business for your company. District-Wide Special Event Sponsorships will help offset the costs associated with District special events planned for 2014. Cruise the Creek Bike Ride and Festival Earth Day Community Workday Goodenow Grove Fall Fest Music at McKinley Outdoor Concert and Car Show Ride the Rock Forest Preserve District OF WILL COUNTY Bringing People and Nature Together Earth Day Community Workday Saturday, April 26 In celebration of Earth Day, volunteers contribute time and effort toward improving preserves by assisting with trail maintenance, brush clearing, rubbish removal and wood chipping. These efforts benefit native plants and wildlife as well as the community. More than 400 individuals participated last year. Ride the Rock Saturday, May 10 This year will mark the eighth annual “Ride the Rock” bike tour at Rock Run Greenway – I&M Canal Access in Joliet. This 16-mile, family-oriented bike ride is open to all ages and free of charge, and has grown in popularity each year. More than 2,800 individuals registered for “Ride the Rock” in 2013. Saturday, August 16 A free classic car show and outdoor concert will kick off summer at McKinley Woods – Kerry Sheridan Grove in Channahon. Participants can dance the night away at a free concert featuring the Cadillac Casanovas, a band that performs a wide variety of 1950s Rock & Roll and Rockabilly. More than 2,000 individuals attended last year’s “Music at McKinley” and more than 141 classic cars were on display. Saturday, September 13 An estimated 3,500 guests attended “Goodenow Grove Fall Fest” in Beecher in 2013. This free, annual event features family-friendly fun including music, entertainment, pumpkin carving, a petting zoo, children’s activities and hayrack rides. Saturday, October 4 “Cruise the Creek” is a free, family bike ride and festival at Hickory Creek Barrens in New Lenox. The ride takes place on a loop trail through the scenic landscape of Hickory Creek Preserve. The festivities include entertainment, food vendors, children’s activities and free pumpkin painting, and are available throughout the day. More than 1,700 individuals registered for “Cruise the Creek” in 2013. Featuring Fair Oaks : Farms!
