July 2012 www.skissc.com PRESIDENT’S CORNER UPCOMING EVENTS It's here, it's here!! "What?", you may ask? The second most exciting time of the year for SSC members, that's what! It's trip signup time. This issue contains details on our seven major 2013 ski trips. We'll start accepting applications for these trips at our June 30 picnic, or by mail postmarked no earlier than June 23. "What's the most exciting time of the year for SSC members?", you ask. If you don't know, you've not been on one of our ski trips yet!! Trip articles in this issue include estimated trip prices – these may change by the date of the picnic as more information comes in. One thing I've been asked to warn all of you about… the possibility of fuel surcharges being levied by the airlines. We hope this won't be necessary, but please be aware that air prices are always subject to change until ticketed. We'll continue to do our best to shop for the best prices until it's time to lock and load…. If you're good at reading between the lines, you've already realized that our Board has selected a new membership meeting and board meeting location – Gullifty's Underground. We're returning to this venue once again! We hope you like it! Last but not least, please start recruiting new and expired members to join SSC. Without increasing our membership over 2011-12 levels, we'll unfortunately have to eliminate or substantially modify club benefits we have all enjoyed for years!
