(Mr Paul McGee)
Leaders are not superhuman. They are susceptible to burnout, a term used to describe a
syndrome of emotional exhaustion. The symptoms can be clearly identified in a burnout
leader – being demoralized, depersonalized, detached and a sense of defeatism permeates
the person. The cost of burnout can be high, both for the leader, his work and those who are
involved in the life of the leader. How then can one recover from such a situation? What steps
can be taken by the victim and his community of faith to restore the leader to his total health?
Servant Leadership
(Dr Low Guat Tin)
Mr Michael Tan
Speakers
Dr John Ng
Servant leadership is one of the most popular leadership models around today. It is coined
and defined by Robert Greenleaf and supported by many leadership and management
writers. In the Gospel, Jesus urged his followers to be servants first. What are the aspects of
being a servant leader?
Personal Life of a Leader: Developing the Whole Person
(Ps Daniel Foo)
Burnt out or on the way to burn out? Stressed-out and worn-out? Stuck and not seeing the
kind of growth in your own life nor in the life of your organization or church? In this workshop,
you will explore and experience the whole gospel for the whole person in a practical and life
changing way - a strategy for discipleship that integrates emotional maturity and spiritual
integrity for leaders. This will transform your life, your marriage and the organizations and
churches you lead.
S.U.M.O. Your Leadership: Shut Up and Move On
(Mr Paul McGee)
Shut Up, Move On does NOT necessarily mean ‘get over it’ or ‘pull yourself together’
(although there may be occasions when both responses are necessary). Shut Up means to
stop what you’re doing, take time out to reflect, let go of baggages and beliefs that hinder
your potential. Move On means tomorrow can be different from today, look for new possibilities, don’t just think about it, take action. SUMO is meant to be a challenging, thoughtprovoking and memorable message. You will learn 6 SUMO principles and gain practical skills
in this workshop.
Just Enough: Success & Contentment
(Mr Tan Koon Swan)
Chasing success is like entering a landscape of moving targets. There’s always more work
to be done, more money to make, a bigger house to buy, lucrative business deals to close.
In what terms can we frame success that can lead us to contentment? How much is “just
enough” so that we can really enjoy success?
The Question is the Answer:
What Leaders Need to Ask to Do the Right Things
(Dr Low Guat Tin)
The ability to ask questions is an important leadership competency as the challenges of
the fast changing, complex world require new mindsets, and new ways of thinking. This
seminar will examine questions we need to ask of ourselves as Christians and of our
colleagues so that we can stay focused and be true to our calling.
Toxic Leadership: What can we do about it?
(Mr Michael Tan)
A leader can be dysfunctional for many reasons. Many are tyrants because they have had
damaging or traumatic experiences. These have shaped their personality and turned
them into bitter or resentful people and they spiral down into being a toxic leader. In this
seminar, we will look at the signs of toxic leadership and how we can form strategies at
dealing with it.
Leadership Confidence
(Mr Paul McGee)
Gaining confidence is not always the goal. It’s simply the by-product of the actions you
take as a leader. It only takes small changes to make a massive difference to what you
can achieve as a leader and in life. This seminar is packed with practical advice and a
thorough grounding in all the latest techniques so that you will be able to lead with
confidence.
Leadership Sustainability: Being, Knowing and Doing
(Mr Sam Lam)
As leaders, we have pushed ourselves to greater performance and we have experienced
some incremental improvement. But all too often, experience reveals that these improvements are temporary. A comprehensive examination of what a leader must be, know and
do can pave the way for the long-term, sustainable growth for themselves and their
organization.

Recovering from Leadership Burnout
(Dr John Ng)
Conflicts are inevitable realities of life and organization and how we manage these realities
will determine whether it is good or bad. We can allow conflicts to cripple our leadership or
we can transform them into discovery of ourselves, others, relationships and create a healthy
church environment. In this workshop, we will identify, understand, diagnose and learn to
manage conflicts.
Ministry is a significant challenge to both the pastor or Christian leader and their spouse
individually, as well as to the marital relationship. Many pastors have built great churches,
but lost their family along the way. This workshop will explore the unique challenges facing
both the pastor/leader and spouse, as well as provide guidance to Christian leaders on how
to avoid these pitfalls and finish well.
Dr Low Guat Tin
(Pastor Daniel Foo)
Spiritual formation is absolutely vital to spiritual leadership and mentoring. The cultivation of
the leader’s inner life is explored in the challenging context of post-modern demands and
distractions. In this session, we will explore such vital issues - the post-modern conspiracy
against true spirituality; coping with leadership business and personal tiredness; the
contemporary dangers of leadership rhetoric and the soul care of a spiritual leader.
Transforming Conflicts into Opportunities
Pastor & Spouse as Partners in Ministry (Pastor Daniel Foo & Mrs Yvonne Foo)
Mr Billy Chan
Formation of a Spiritual Leader in a Post-modern World
(Mr Sam Lam)
Coaching has become one of the most important competencies of a leader. Recognized as
one of the best coaches in Asia, Sam Lam shares important perspectives and offers practical
tools to develop coaching skills.
Synopsis For Seminars
In a Christian world which seems to endlessly celebrate great entrepreneurial leaders and
visions, what is there to say about the quiet, interior side of the leader? Who is this man or
woman who — in the privacy of his/her heart — often has to wrestle with doubts, fears, and
fatigue. What are the keys to long-term resilience that keep a leader moving ahead with joy
in spite of setbacks and disappointments. How does a leader live with success?

Core of a Leader’s Life: Dealing with Personal Issues
Mrs Yvonne
Foo
(Mr Tan Koon Swan)
This is one of the highlights of this conference, whereby participants ask the speakers
pertinent issues and challenges facing their leadership. The speakers speak from their hearts
and respond candidly to the Q & A session.
Scandals & Pitfalls: Building Accountability in Leadership
(Mr Michael Tan / Mr Billy Chan)
Leadership scandals and pitfalls are situations that are full of complex problems that must be
dealt with so that the situation does not get worse or more dangerous. These crisis are
situations that challenge our capabilities to respond and if not well managed, they could
spiral downwards to greater damage and even loss of lives. In this workshop, we will explore
how to build an effective team through the art of accountability. We will learn how to integrate
the elements of discipline and grace in the process of accountability from a biblical
perspective.

Finding God in Success & Failure
Synopsis For Workshops
(Mr Peter Chao)
The making and keeping of promises are integral to life in community and an inalienable,
important and critical part of the art of leadership. The ability to make and keep promises will
determine the quality of the leadership, as well as build the trust that binds leaders and
followers together.
