In 1884, the Bavarian King Ludwig II moved into the now
world-famous Neuschwanstein Castle. For his new residence,
he entrusted the production of his personal, gloriously
decorated wash jug and bowl to a manufacturer that boasted a
long tradition of high-quality ceramics even back then:
Villeroy&Boch.
Art and culture play an inherent role in the history of
Villeroy&Boch. Artists Anna and Eugène Boch, for instance,
were close friends of Vincent van Gogh. The evenings they
spent together in a cafe in Arles inspired the painter to create
his renowned work Cafe Terrace at Night in 1888.
To mark the occasion of the World Exhibition in Paris, the
tallest building at that time in the world was constructed: the
Eiffel Tower. Exhibitors at the prestigious industrial fair also
included Villeroy&Boch, whose innovative products continue
to enjoy global renown today.
Since its introduction in 1934, the Coupé Cabriolet has
captured the hearts of car lovers. And even back then, “Made
in Germany” already stood for high-quality products and
meticulous precision. A seal of quality that also distinguishes
products by Villeroy&Boch – as the stress test with four
premium bone china cups proves.
The world’s most prominent royal families opt for befitting
