Transportation Guide A L L G A Y G A M E S T R A N S P O R TAT I O N I S O P E N T O T H E P U B L I C Welcome to Cleveland & Akron! We are a community that offers a dynamic mix of old and new, both in our architecture and our transportation. From the free vintage trolleys that go everywhere downtown, to the state-of-the-art bus rapid transit HealthLine that operates 24/7, you see the best of Northeast Ohio on public transit. It’s easy to be car-free in Cleveland. Just hop aboard. If you flew in to Hopkins International Airport, you saw the Rapid trains ready to whisk you away to downtown. From Public Square, use the trolleys to enjoy the lakefront, visit Playhouse Square, or sample the many fine restaurants and night spots. Board the HealthLine to take you to Cleveland State, Case Western Reserve University, or the world-class museums in University Circle. Ride the Rapid to experience Little Italy, Shaker Square, and so many other areas that makes Cleveland unique. To the south, Akron has no end of delights to keep you entertained. Refuel with a famous Luigi’s pizza between events, take in the sights and sounds of great Metro Parks, shop your way through boutiques or dance the night away at Adam’s Street. Want world-class culture? Visit the Akron Art Museum, or catch one of the Akron Symphony Orchestra’s free outdoor concerts. How about a walk on the wild side? Lounge with lions at the Akron Zoo. Or, head to the trendy Highland Square neighborhood to catch live, local music in one of its many pubs. Discover all Akron has to offer on Akron METRO RTA. The Loop, METRO’s free bus route, serves downtown Akron and the Zoo. Enjoy our area, and promise us that you’ll come back. 4 Contents Events Accreditation (Badge Pick-up)............................... 1 Band Concert ...................................................... 1 Chorus Concert ................................................... 2 Closing Ceremony................................................ 2 Festival Village..................................................... 2 Opening Ceremony.............................................. 3 Pink Flamingo...................................................... 3 Sports Aquatics Diving.................................................... 5 Aquatics Open Water Swim.................................. 5 Aquatics Swimming.............................................. 6 Aquatics Water Polo............................................. 6 Badminton........................................................... 7 Basketball............................................................ 7 Beach Volleyball................................................... 8 Billiards................................................................ 8 Bodybuilding........................................................ 8 Bowling................................................................ 9 Cheer................................................................ 10 Cycling - Criterium............................................. 10 Cycling - Individual and Team Time Trial............. 10 Cycling - Road Race/Circuit Race........................ 11 Cycling - Mountain Biking................................... 11 Dance Sport....................................................... 11 Darts.................................................................. 12 Figure Skating.................................................... 12 Flag Football...................................................... 13 Golf................................................................... 13 Half and Full Marathon...................................... 14 Ice Hockey......................................................... 14 Martial Arts........................................................ 14 Powerlifting........................................................ 15 5 Contents Sports Continued Racquetball........................................................ 15 Rainbow Run...................................................... 16 Road Race (5K)................................................... 16 Road Race (10K)................................................. 17 Rock Climbing.................................................... 18 Rowing............................................................... 18 Sailing............................................................... 18 Soccer................................................................ 19 Softball.............................................................. 20 Squash............................................................... 20 Tennis...........................................................21-22 Table Tennis....................................................... 22 Track & Field...................................................... 23 Triathlon............................................................ 23 Volleyball........................................................... 24 Wrestling............................................................ 24 Other Information Cleveland - Akron Connector Schedules............. 25 Shuttle Signs...................................................... 31 Downtown Cleveland Maps................................ 32 Downtown Akron Map........................................ 34 About the Transit Agencies................................. 36 Riders With Disabilities....................................... 36 6 Events Accreditation (Badge Pick-up) Multiple Days, visit gg9cle.com for details.
