Growing up in Nigeria molded me into the determined, ambitious, and strong-minded
young woman I am today. I have gained learning experiences from working with disadvantage
children. My career goals include graduating college with a bachelor degree in social
entrepreneurship, enrolling in graduate school, and volunteering in the Peace Corps. I plan to
give back to not only my community, but society as well. My goal is to help others become
educated regardless of their backgrounds especially young children. My Yoruba culture and love
for community service have contributed to who I am. I want to succeed in life knowing that I
will be creating opportunities for others to succeed as well. I should receive this award because
as first generation to attend college, I am very excited and would love to pursue a higher
education once I graduate high school and be financially stable in college.

My main goal in life is to become a registered neonatal nurse. Accordingly, my main
priority is to obtain a college education. Getting a college education is vital to my
future and I have worked very hard to get where I am today so that I could further my
education. After I've graduated in June, I plan on attending Broward College in the
fall of this year for the next two years and earn my Associates degree in nursing.
Afterwards, I will transfer to Florida Atlantic University where I will then major in
nursing and receive my BSN. With today's tough economy, achieving all of this will
be quite difficult, especially since I am from a low-income family. Receiving this
award would mean the world to me. This scholarship will help me achieve my goal
by helping me to pay for my college education, thus allowing me to make a difference
in my community.
