ASEAN nations are undergoing change in the faces of
their metropolitan area. In particular, Singapore,
Indonesia and Malaysia have grown at a rapid rate and
are constructing large numbers of high-rise buildings.
Since establishing Southeast Asia's largest elevator
manufacturing base in Singapore in 1972, Fujitec has
installed more than 15,000 elevators in high-rise
apartment buildings developed by the Housing
Development Board of Singapore. As a result, Fujitec
has become the market share leader in Singapore, and
has earned an outstanding reputation. Production
capabilities have also expanded to include a new plant
in Indonesia's Batam Island. This plant supplies parts
to other regions and serves as Fujitec's largest
manufacturing base in South Asia.
Hong Kong, a mecca for super high-rise buildings,
continues to grow at a rapid pace. Fujitec established its
first base in Hong Kong in the early 1960's, followed by
bases in Taiwan and Korea. In 1995, Fujitec set up
Huasheng Fujitec Elevator Co. in China through a joint
venture with one of China's largest trading companies,

NEUROS - Revolutionary Group Supervisory Control
system using a neuro-computer
NEUROS, which models the human brain, is a
revolutionary group supervisory control system that
efficiently controls elevators while autonomously learning
and judging traffic status. Adoption of a neuro-computer
with a self-learning function for group supervisory control
enables modification of programs to achieve optimal
control even if the computer encounters unexpected
traffic situations. By applying neuro-technology, Fujitec
succeeded in drastically cutting average waiting times as
compared with conventional fuzzy control systems. While
more and more high-rises are being built, the Fujitec
NEUROS system further enhances the potential of
elevators.
With the catchphrase "Eco-friendly," Fujitec commits

Fujitec's "Green" Elevators Give Serious Consideration to
the Global Environment
Fujitec has continued to push ahead with its development
of the "Green" Elevator. Fujitec utilizes state-of-the-art
technologies while reducing damage to the global
environment and conserving the world's energy and
resources. This is exemplified by the world's first power
regenerated motor. Power generated at the time of brake
application during elevator ascent and descent is stored
for future use.
New Double-Deck Elevator FLEX-DD
Unlike conventional double-deck elevators with a fixed
distance between the upper and lower cabs, our new
double-deck elevator FLEX-DD automatically adjusts the
distance between the upper and lower cabs according to
the floor-to-floor distances within a building. The elevator
employs a motor-driven jack that enables flexible
adjustment of the distance between the cabs and displays
this strong advantage in super high-rise buildings.
Elevator Network Monitoring System - Elevator
operation controlled by a LAN system
Fujitec developed the world's first "Elevator
Network Monitoring System" allowing remote
monitoring of elevators. The system outputs
various commands by way of a LAN from an office
computer. Change of elevator operation patterns
can be readily made from a personal computer.
The system monitors the whole building system in
combination with air-conditioning systems and
building security systems. Its advanced features
and functions have received very favorable
evaluations.
AUVIS - Elevator Multi-Informational AV System
AUVIS is a system that provides audio and visual
information inside the elevator. In response to elevator
movements, well-timed messages can be delivered.
AUVIS is recommended to commercial facilities as a
means of providing timely commercial messages,
emergency messages in case of fire, etc. The product is
aesthetically pleasing and improves elevator environment.
New-Generation Elevator Drive System TALON Drive
The TALON Drive is a revolutionary elevator drive
system that has drastically changed the concept of the
conventional 100 -year-old traction sheave system used in
roped elevator drive systems. The Talon system drives
the elevator car up and down, without regard to car
weight, by pressing the belt against the ropes passed over
a sheave. This new drive system helps Fujitec create
“the world's most earth-freiendly elevators”that save
energy, space and resources.
Linear Motor Elevator - The next generation of
ropeless people-moving systems
Drawing keen attention as the next generation of
elevators, Fujitec's Linear Elevator, is ideal for ultra super
high-rises and deep underground development projects. It
is indeed an epoch-making, people-moving system that
uses a linear synchronous motor to drive elevators
upward and downward without using ropes. The unit of a
linear elevator travels independently, enabling multiple
units to travel on the same path. Furthermore, flexible
transportation, which allows one unit to pass another unit,
is ensured by providing branch and join devices on the
path. Fujitec was the world's first manufacturer to
successfully perform a demonstrative test of a linear
elevator and continues research and development for
practical use of this system.
