Main Street - Welcome to St. Charles, which happens to be one of the most historic main streets in all of America! Join the St. Charles CVB’s tour guides, in period dress, on a complimentary walking tour of the Historic District and the First Missouri State Capitol Site. This tour will give you an overview of life as it was in the early days of St. Charles. 3-5 pm - Registration & Allied Member Exhibitor Set-Up 4-5:30 pm - Show Me Missouri Sports Meeting - Discovery D 4-5:30 pm - Sharing Session: Online and Social Media - Discovery A Sean Dixon - Springfield CVB, Stacy Dohogne Lane - Cape Girardeau CVB Come together to share what has and has not worked in your social media and online marketing efforts. This informal discussion will be moderated to assist you in improving your online presence. Topics including trends, new applications, time management and measurement results may be discussed. Tuesday, June 7 7-8 am - Breakfast - Amerisports - located on first floor. 8-8:15 - Welcome to MACVB 2016 MACVB President Tim Jacobsen, Lake of the Ozarks CVB & Joe Ward, Executive Director of the Greater St. Charles CVB 8:15-9:15 am - Integrating Marketing and Sales: If sales and marketing have the same goal, then why do they operate and message independently? - Discovery B/C - Ronnie Burt, Visit KC Ronnie Burt, President and CEO of Visit KC , will talk about how their DMO has repositioned strategies, aligned messaging and developed an integrated approach to addressing the question, “Why Kansas City?” You’ll gain insights and examples on email messaging, solicitation emails, embedding video content and setting up the sales call. His philosophy is to leverage each staff ’s knowledge and data, in the common pursuit of generating more leads, closing more sales and increasing leisure visits. Missouri is fortunate to have four official US Bicycle Routes passing through, as well as the longest Rails to Trails system in the country. The panel will present the value of this market, the revenue potential, how to reach cycling tour operators, and what simple adjustments can be made in your destination to attract those ever important overnight stays. Creating a Comprehensive Mobile Strategy - Imagination B Adam Weber, Bluebridge With 80% of the world having a smartphone by the year 2020, most organizations are not doing enough to connect with their audience through mobile. Don’t lose out on reaching your visitors - be where they are by creating a solid mobile presence. Adam will give actionable advice and strategies for CVBs and DMOs to create a comprehensive mobile plan to engage visitor’s throughout their lifecycle and across devices. Paid Social Media - Discovery D Dave Fluegge, Fluegge Consulting Regardless of what has worked a few years ago, the social media landscape continues to change quickly and dramatically. Many believe that paid social is the only reliable means of building a targeted and effective audience for your brand. This session will help to formulate your own opinions on the future of paid social media. **Note, this session is specifically targeted to intermediate and advanced practitioners within the social media channel. Sales Forum: Winning the Solicitation Game - Discovery B/C Ronnie Burt, Visit KC Join Ronnie Burt, President and CEO of Visit KC , as he discusses the art of building your sales pipeline. Sales people often focus solely on their end goal and lose sight of solicitations. In this session, we’ll discuss the strategy of identifying your sales needs, targeting the right customers, setting daily targets and aligning the correct balance of email and phone solicitation. If you are interested in driving more sales results, “Winning the Solicitation Game” is the right session for you. Heritage Tourism Initiative - Imagination A Steve Belko, Missouri Humanities Council The Missouri Humanities Council (MHC) is implementing a comprehensive statewide heritage tourism initiative. The first step in this initiative is the completion of a statewide, county-by-county survey of Missouri’s heritage resources, existing and potential. This 1940’s structure, formerly owned by American Car & Foundry, was once a train car factory and now includes state-of-the-art exhibit space, studio artists and a grand hall for entertainment. Your evening will be complete with a visit to the Bottleneck Blues Bar, Ameristar’s very own eclectic entertainment venue, for drinks and dancing. The St. Charles CVB even has special surprise guests planned for us, so get excited and be ready to have fun!
