SCHOOL MISSION The mission of T.C.P. World Academy is for me to become an academically-involved independent learner through quality class participation, participation in micro-society activities, and utilizing technology for higher learning. I will understand the rationale for my education and the importance of this experience for my viable participation in a global society. 4 Principal’s Page KAREN Y. FRENCH FOUNDER • SUPERINTENDENT • PRINCIPAL T.C.P. World Academy is an Ohio publicly-funded Community School meeting the challenges of education reform. We work uncompromisingly to instill pride and joy in our children as they become independent learners doing their very best academically while developing socially as upstanding citizens and future leaders. Included in this Yearbook and Annual Report are the staff members who met the challenge, your children, the test scores showing their exemplary performance on the Ohio Department of Education Achievement Tests, and 2012 fiscal year financial data. It does not matter if the initiative is No Child Left Behind or the current Race to the Top competition, I believe that real education reform must be made in the hearts of those educating and those directly overseeing the education of our children. Every year since 2005, with the exception of one “Effective” rating for the 2007-2008 school year, T.C.P. World Academy has earned an “Excellent” rating from the Ohio Department of Education. By virtue of sound financial management, a 95% attendance rate, authentic assessments, and high academic achievement, we remain steadfast in our commitment to providing superb, innovative, cutting-edge, creative, effective college preparatory teaching methods. The greatest investment we can make is in our youth, providing them with educational opportunities that enable them to become a part of this country’s commerce and not an addition to its liability. Together, with God’s help and the continued financial support of our Federal and State Government, your support, our sponsor E.R.C.O. and the efforts of our dedicated staff, I will continue to be the vessel used to facilitate this mission given to me over twelve years ago, serving you and your most precious gifts, your children – our future. 6 Administration & Support Staff Mr. P.
