CME Accreditation The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Minimum Performance Level: Per the 2010 revision of the American Medical Association (AMA) Physician’s Recognition Award (PRA) and credit system, a minimum performance level must be established on enduring material and journal-based CME activities that are certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. In order to successfully complete the general pediatrics PREP Self-Assessment CME activity for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™, learners must demonstrate a minimum performance level of 70% or higher on the self-assessment, which measures achievement of the educational purpose and/or objectives of the activity. In order to successfully complete the PREP® Subspecialty Self-Assessment CME activities (including NeoReviewsPlus™) for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™, learners must demonstrate a minimum performance level of 60% or higher on the self-assessment, which measures achievement of the educational purpose and/or objectives of the activity. In order to successfully complete NeoReviews™ and Pediatrics in Review® journal-based CME activities for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™, learners must demonstrate a minimum performance level of 60% or higher on the post-article quiz, which measures achievement of the educational purpose and/or objectives of the activity. PREP Self-Assessments are built for professional development with learning occurring upon review and study of the critiques; the initial score achieved represents knowledge without the benefit of reading the learning component. After reading the rationale and evidence for the preferred answers, learners are able to reset the assessment and take it repeatedly as a post-test to measure their progress and achieve the minimum passing score. All potential conflicts of interest are identified and resolved prior to an individual’s confirmation of service at an AAP CME activity. Beyond disclosure of financial relationships, AAP CME faculty are required to disclose to the AAP and to learners when they plan to discuss or demonstrate pharmaceuticals and/or medical devices and/or medical or surgical procedures that involve “off-label” use of a device or pharmaceutical. The AAP is committed to providing learners with commercially unbiased CME activities. The content of these CME activities does not necessarily reflect the views or policies of the AAP.
