Composition Profile Òscar studied composition with Malcolm Singer and Simon Bainbridge. He graduated with first class honours and a Master in Composition with distinction from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and was later awarded a PhD in Composition from the Royal Academy of Music. He teaches at the Yehudi Menuhin School (2006), the Royal Academy of Music (2013) and has been invited to coach chamber music at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague-School for Young Talent (2013). Orchestral Performer A graduate violinist from the Valencia Conservatoire, Òscar was active as an orchestral and contemporary ensemble performer before pursuing a career as a composer/conductor. He played with the Spanish Youth National Orchestra at the BBC PROMS in 1996 and worked with first class conductors such as Carlo Maria Giulini, Lutz Köhler, Gianandrea Noseda, Andras Ligeti, and international soloists such as M. Rostropovich, Plácido Domingo, Agnes Baltsa, Pepe Romero and Carlos Bonell. He led the second violin section with the Spanish National Youth Orchestra for their performances of R. Gerhard 'Concerto for Orchestra'.
