The total value of volunteer time donated is Mission Statement Ronald McDonald House Charities of Phoenix, Inc. is a welcoming “home-away-from-home” for families with children facing medical challenges, providing an atmosphere of comfort, hope and courage. In 2015, we provided a “home-away-from-home” for 2,446 families and their critically ill children. These families came from 14 Arizona counties, 22 states and 9 countries. 91% of all families served were from Arizona. 3,092 family visits made and 19,926 nights. 2015 occupancy rate was 77% Average family stay was 16 $366,046 *Based on the 2014 national average donation rate of $23.07 per hour. The average daily cost to house a family was $59 and we asked families to make a voluntary donation of $15 per day. In 2015, 10% of families were able to make a contribution. When a child is seriously ill and receiving treatment in the hospital, a parent never wants to leave their side. They want to make sure their child is comforted and supported—even if it means sleeping in a waiting room or sacrificing their own well-being in the process. It’s what parents do. Every $59 raised covers the entire cost to house a family for one night. In 2015, RMHC served 2,446 families from 14 Arizona counties, 22 other states and 9 countries. Parents and families need a place to call home; a home where they will find a place to sleep, have meals prepared by volunteers, and an environment where they are supported by compassionate volunteers and staff, so that they can focus on what matters the most to them—the health of their child. All these things make a difference in the life of a child and their family. Ronald McDonald House can be their “home-away-from-home” with your generous support of the McNight Gala. Our doors are open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day for families. RMHC of Phoenix has been “keeping families close” by providing families with temporary lodging for little or no cost since 1985.
