The Maryland MEP (MD MEP) is a non-profit organization
focused on growing and strengthening manufacturers
and manufacturing throughout the State of Maryland.
Committed to the success of the manufacturing industry,
the Maryland MEP services and programs are delivered in
partnership with the Regional Manufacturing Institute of
Maryland (RMI) and the Maryland World Class Consortia
(MWCC).
RMI was founded in 1990 for manufacturers in the
Baltimore Metropolitan area. Today, RMI is the leading
advocate for manufacturing statewide. The MWCC is a
network of expert practioners, local government and
member organizations whose mission is to grow the
State’s economy through performance and operational
excellence. Together, the team of MD MEP, RMI and MWCC
can leverage the experience, expertise and resources
of their partnership to grow, advocate and advance
manufacturing in the State of Maryland.
OUR MISSION
The mission of the Maryland MEP is to grow
manufacturing in the State of Maryland by making
Maryland manufacturers more competitive and more
profitable. Funded in part through the U.S. Department
of Commerce and Maryland’s Department of Business
and Economic Development, the Maryland MEP works to
connect manufacturers with public and private resources
and services to spark growth. As partners of the MEP, RMI
continues to advocate for the manufacturing industry and
provide a voice for manufacturers throughout the State
while the MWCC has a proven track record of generating
lasting results and world-class improvement. Together,
the partnership is committed to long-term growth of the
manufacturing industry in Maryland.
OUR VISION
As the leading manufacturing assistance organization
in the state, Maryland MEP’s vision is to help grow and
expand manufacturing and manufacturing profitability
through linkages and access to knowledge, funding,
technology and technical skills and resources. Our goal
to help and lead manufacturing innovation, improve
processes and grow manufacturing business in Maryland.
Through building, managing and consistently evaluating
collaborative relationships with key service partners, we
provide manufacturers with access to the information and
resources they need to succeed.
MAKE IT IN MARYLAND MAY EVENT
KEYNOTES
The Make It In Maryland Event kicks-off the Maryland
MEP’s Make it in Maryland Program, and is a networking
opportunity for Maryland manufacturers and the
stakeholders serving the industry. Key Note Speaker, the
Honorable Steny Hoyer will share successes of companies
that choose to Make it in America, while Paul Reed Smith
will share why Paul Reed Smith Guitars has been a staple
of the Maryland Manufacturing community for many
years.

In the Fifth Congressional District,
Congressman Steny H. Hoyer is
a tireless fighter for economic
development and a leader in
creating jobs. He has helped create
and save nearly 23,000 jobs by
supporting federal facilities and
associated businesses located in and around the Fifth
District, including NASA Goddard Space Flight Center,
Patuxent River Naval Air Station, the Naval Surface Warfare
Center at Indian Head, the Beltsville Agricultural Research
Center, the FDA at White Oak, and the future NOAA Center
for Weather and Climate Prediction in College Park.

LOCATION
The Make it in Maryland Event will be held at the Baltimore
Museum of Industry in Baltimore, MD. Located in an old
cannery, the museum has exhibits on various types of
manufacturing and industry from the early 20th century;
making it a perfect location to bring together, support and
showcase Maryland manufacturers of today.

Paul Reed Smith is one of the
world’s premier luthiers and the
founder and owner of PRS Guitars.
His electric guitars are played
by the likes of Ted Nugent, Mike
Shinoda, Brad Delson, Alex Lifeson,
Carlos Santana, Al Di Meola, Dave
Navarro, Mark Tremonti, Mikael Åkerfeldt, Peter Lindgren,

TO JOIN MAKE IT IN MARYLAND
Maryland MEP’s Make it in Maryland program is Maryland’s first and only program
dedicated to Maryland manufacturers to showcase companies, demonstrate the value
of manufacturing within Maryland and highlight manufacturing successes. Make it in
Maryland provides companies B2B purchasing, partnering and business opportunities
within the State of Maryland.
Maryland manufacturers joining the Make It In Maryland program are eligible for
multiple program benefits including:

Highlight of Maryland Manufacturing Enterprises;
•
Marketing, awareness and outreach to manufacturing stakeholders;
•
Inclusion in Make It In Maryland marketing materials, website, etc.
•
Opportunity to be showcased as Maryland Manufacturer of the week;

MAKE IT IN MARYLAND VIDEO SHOWCASE
Manufacturers who join the Make It In Maryland Program have the opportunity to have a video showcase of their organization
highlighting the company, your people, your history and why manufacturing is important to Maryland.
The cost of a video showcase is $3,000, however any manufacturer who chooses to add this option prior to April 15th will
receive ten free tickets to the Make It In Maryland Event where the video will be shown and be featured as a “Manufacturing
