SUPER BOWL/McDONALDS NIGHT…………..Friday 20 June
Next Friday, the James Hargest College International Club are extending an invitation to International and Exchange students to join them for Bowling and Burgers—5.30pm—7.30pm—
COME ALONG AND HAVE A FUN NIGHT
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT STUDENTS SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE MONEY ON THEIR PHONE—THIS IS ESSENTIAL IF THEY NEED TO TEXT THEIR HOMESTAY PARENTS OR ARE PUT INTO A SITUATION WHERE AN URGENT
PHONE CALL IS REQUIRED
RANDOM SNIPPET:
“People don’t notice if it’s winter or
summer when they are happy”
Anton Chekov

I have recently returned from five weeks holiday spent in the United Kingdom and many countries in Europe—it
was a wonderful holiday exploring many different countries, savouring different foods and experiencing lots of
different lifestyles…..., but it is great to be back in the beautiful ‘Land of the long white cloud’ even though the
temperatures dropped from around the mid forties in Dubai, to three degrees on our return! Brrhhh!

Remember, I have several wheat bags for any students who might be feeling the chill of the oncoming winter months—
NB: students: two minutes in the microwave for toastie toes in bed.

With the drop in temperature, it would also be appreciated if home stay families could check to make sure their students are
warm enough in their bedrooms and beds.

Attached to this edition is an updated home stay list which shows students local addresses for your information.
Thank you!

As part of our on-going student support for our International Students we encourage them to get involved with the wide range of
sporting, cultural and musical opportunities that Hargest has to offer.
During our orientation process we endeavour to find out what interests the students have so we can encourage them to get involved and
become an active member of the school during their stay. We have found that the connections the students make with our students
give them a valuable and rewarding experience.
An extensive range of sporting and cultural opportunities are also provided out of school and where possible, we can help the student
make the initial contact with a particular club or organisation.
Please contact Donna Henderson if you have any queries.
