Januar y The vo l u m e t h r e e 9-4-2-8 TurboChef Partners, With 2010 well under way, TurboChef is looking forward to another year of exciting opportunities. One such opportunity is our partnership with the newly-formed Middleby World Wide Team, who will be working closely with TurboChef ’s distributor partners to bring added support and profitable solutions to our international customers. In December, TurboChef hosted a training event for Middleby World Wide to learn about our ovens and sales processes. Representatives from around the globe spent two days discovering the advantages of cooking with TurboChef ovens, and we are excited about the added focus this team is ready to bring to international markets. See page 5 for details. Also in December, the TurboChef truck was overhauled with the addition of the new Sŏta oven (featured on page 2) and coffee cafe, and is now back on the road and heading to the west coast. Check out the schedule on our website to learn when the truck will be in your area. On the Residential front, the new Charlie Trotter cookbook (with the TurboChef Residential Double Wall oven on the front cover) has many new dishes for you to try in your oven at home. See page 4 for details. Here’s to a successful 2010, and thank you as always for your continued support of the TurboChef brand! Having said goodbye to 2009, we all begin the year with new goals and promises. As some common goals are to eat better and spend more time with family and friends, the next few Residential Wrap Ups will showcase recipes for upcoming social occasions, as well as real-life customer and/or dealer success stories. Always remember that TurboChef would love for you to share your experiences with our culinary community. Please send pictures, videos, and your favorite homemade TurboChef recipes to residential@turbochef.com. You may get a spotlight in future newsletters! Are you ready for some football? There’s no better way to start the year off than with a party, and after New Year’s, the first “excuse” we have in 2010 is Super Bowl Sunday. A day known for over-consumption of chicken wings, dips, chips, beverages (and also a football game), it is the perfect opportunity to show off your oven. With the TurboChef oven, the “Air Crisp” mode may be all you need to make your party a success, as it can quickly cook your favorite appetizers with a touch of a button. Now you can spend less time in the kitchen and more time watching all those highlyanticipated commercials! And oh yeah, the game of course... Looking ahead While the economy has had an effect on many nationwide, TurboChef is starting 2010 with excitement and optimism. We continue to travel the country with our TurboChef Mobile Culinary Institute, and we are looking forward to exhibiting at the 2010 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show in Chicago, April 16–18, with live demonstrations throughout the show. For more information on upcoming events or to locate a dealer near you, visit our website at www.turbochef.com/residential. Happy Cooking! Partner Spotlight Builder Specialties, based in Atlanta and one of TurboChef’s first residential dealers, is continually developing new ideas and recipes to promote the TurboChef oven. Jill Burnett, sales associate at Builder Specialties, has recently managed to perfect a task in her showroom that often seems impossible in any oven: baking dessert. Desserts are often overlooked because they take so much time and usually do not turn out as desired. We were so impressed, we decided we must feature her dessert recipe, above. Next time when hosting a party, skip the store-bought chocolate chip cookies in the plastic tin and try Jill’s Layered Bars. They are delicious and easy to make! vo l u m e t h r e e page 3 Featured Residential Recipe: Jill’s Layered Bars Product Specifications Cooking vessel: Greased 9x13 baking dish Servings: Approx. 2 dozen small pieces Ingredients - 1 stick butter - 1 cup graham cracker crumbs - 6-8 oz. of toffee/brickle bits (or 6 Heath bars rough-chopped) - 6-8 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips - 6-8 oz. white chocolate chips (or bar rough-chopped) - 1 can sweetened condensed milk - 1 cup sliced almonds Instructions 1. Angel Esperanueva proved to be a perfect fit, having over 15 years in corporate training and customer service management for high-end consumer products. Angel’s background includes working for such companies as Web Link Wireless, Mercedes Benz, and Ford Motor Credit. After achieving numerous honors and recognitions in the area of customer service, Angel joined the TurboChef team in 2006 to head up the residential oven customer support initiative. Since that time, Angel has become the name and face of residential customer service. The TurboChef facility was the first stop on an 18-day tour of Middleby factories in the United States, through which the MWW Sales Team was given the opportunity to learn more about the different divisions and their respective products. The MWW Sales Team represents over 20 countries around the world, and TurboChef is excited about the added international exposure this group will bring to the TurboChef brand. During the event, the team learned about TurboChef products, service infrastructure, manufacturing capabilities, and additional mechanisms—such as culinary development—that have been integral in supporting our customers. The team was also given first-hand experience operating TurboChef ovens and a jumpstart on determining the best applications for product placement. A special thanks to Douglas Dunn, President of Middleby World Wide, for allowing TurboChef to host this event and to Yogini Patel and Alex Bly of TurboChef for coordinating, and to all the others who contributed towards making this event a huge success!
