Combining sophisticated vocals with humor leaves audiences breezily enchanted. A native of England, Helen moved to the U.S. in 2003. She immediately started performing in the region‟s best entertainment venues, like Severance Hall, Playhouse Square, Akron Civic, Blossom, Chautauqua, Nighttown and more. Helen released her first CD, One Dream in 2006. The CD featured the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra and her quartet, brings its programs directly to schools that have no music programs, and provides students with training in music and dance free of any charge. The Cleveland POPS Orchestra Office: 24000 Mercantile Rd., Unit #8 Beachwood, OH 44122 (216) 765-7677 on the web: www.clevelandpops.com and is an eclectic blend of Broadway hits, classic pop tunes and songs she co-wrote. A second CD, Forever for Now, followed in 2010 and instantly garnered rave reviews. This CD is much more contemporary in style and song selection, and it may surprise fans to hear Lennon/ McCartney, Sting and Cyndi Lauper songs alongside those of Harry Connick Jr., Paul Williams and Henry Mancini. Helen calls it „an eclectic fusion of jazz and popular song.‟ Helen is thrilled to be working with the Cleveland POPS Orchestra today, and she will be signing copies of her CDs after the show. One of only a handful of independent Pops Orchestras in the nation, the Cleveland Pops Orchestra has been entertaining people in Greater Cleveland for 15 years. To Northeast Ohio‟s music lovers, young and old alike, the Cleveland POPS Orchestra is a lively entertainment experience that connects to their lives with familiar and beloved music. Founded in 1993 by its current conductor Carl Topilow and current president and CEO Shirley Morgenstern, Cleveland Pops is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that relies on grants, ticket sales, contributions and sponsorship development for its funding. Along with its successful concert career, Cleveland POPS maintains an active and innovative program of music education for students pre-K through K-2. The POPS brings its programs directly to schools that have no music programs, and provides students with training in music and dance free of any charge. That‟s amore, Bells will ring ting-a-ling-a-ling, ting-a-ling-a-ling and you‟ll sing “Vita bella,” Hearts will play tippy-tippy-tay, tippy-tippy-tay Like a gay tarantella. When the stars make you drool just like pasta fazool That‟s amore, When you dance down the street with a cloud at your feet You‟re in love, When you walk in a dream, but you know you‟re not dreaming signore, Scuzza me, but you see, back in old Napoli, That‟s amore.
