From these beginnings, Glastonbury Gage has continually increased its product offering and services. • Southern Gage was founded in 1955 in Erin, TN as an outgrowth of the Woodworth Company. It grew to be a full service gage manufacturer with emphasis on thread gaging. During the 1980’s Southern Gage became known for its educational and training programs on thread form and gaging. In 1995, the owner of Glastonbury Gage purchased Southern Gage from ITW. GSG Company Overview Cont’ • In March 1999, the GSG Erin operations occupied its new 42,000 square foot state of the art manufacturing facility. It includes 5,000 square feet of laboratory space, temperature and humidity control for the entire plant, CNC thread grinding equipment and a streamlined process work flow. • In July 2001 GSG consolidated customer service and plain cylindrical production to improve deliveries and customer response, while this effort was successful we at GSG continue to find ways of improving delivery and customer service. • Today, GSG has the broadest product line in its market and is known as a quality leader. With the introduction of “lean manufacturing” and improved processes GSG intends to remain renown as the industry leader. Pg. 42 Surveillance Masters Surveillance Masters Surveillance Masters for checking Micrometers All masters can be supplied in English or Metric. The 01 Masters is made of Stainless, all others are chrome plated or. Tolerances on standard mike masters +/-.0001 or +/- 0.0025 MM. Tighter tolerances are available upon request with exception of 112 masters. Mike masters can be modified or made to larger sizes. Mike Master 01-1 Mike Master Sizes: .100 .200. 300 .400 .512 .600 .762 .800 .900 and 1.000. Reason for .512 and .762 is so that you can check mike at different location of mike. Will let you know if you have lead error on thread in mike. Is supplied with plastic storage case. 16-1 Mike Master 1.000 to 6.000 diameters in one inch increments 16-1/2 Mike Master .500 to 6.000 diameters in half inch increments. 112 Mike Master 1.000 to 12.000 diameters in one inch increments. The 112 is a paddle style gage. Dimensions are one inch by two inch. With exception of 1.000 & 2.000 diameters which are round. Geometric Chek Geometric Chek is used to check system capability of circular measuring machines. Material is 440-c stainless steel. Measures concentricity, roundness, squareness, circular flatness, runout, parallelism and co-axiality ID & OD are manufactured to XX geometry. Is supplied with cert and carrying case. Caliper Masters 1.000 to 6.000 in one inch increments to check outside jaws of calipers and .500 to 4.500 to check inside jaws of calipers. Gage is made out of tool steel and non gaging areas are painted black crinkle. As note above different sizes can be quoted. Z Axis Master Master has four steps one inch through four inch. Material is 440-c stainless steel. Is used to certify optical CMM’s. Comes in two versions, ground and lapped. Is marked on side of master to the nearest .00001. Is supplied with cert and plastic form fitted case. Depth Mike Masters Depth mike masters are used to zero out rods in depth mikes when rods are changed to different lengths DM-1 is our step type master with steps from .500 to 5.500. Tolerance on steps is +/- .0002. ADM is our 11.500 version of depth mike master. ADM is held to tighter tolerances. Tolerance on .500 to 5.500 in inch steps +/- .0001. Steps 6.500 to 11.500 are held to tolerance of +/- .0002. Quikcheck Comes in two standard versions. Eight inch and sixteen inch version. Also other sizes per request. Material 440c stainless steel. Used to check X Y and Z axis of CMM’s. Periodic inspection of CMM will indicate linear inaccuracies. Also calibrates hole size and angularity using the three holes. Comes with cert and carrying case Taper Gages There are several types of tapers. National Machine Taper also called Cat Taper. Commonly used for tool holders. Brown & Sharpe, Morse, Jarno, Jacobs and medical Luer Tapers. We also work to company specs. All standard tapers manufactured to ASME/ANSI B5.10 Class Z. We have most specs for odd ball tapers in our possession Bluing capabilities to 95%, ability to match to several sets at a time. Most special tapers held to +/-.0001 on SE or LE. Taper tolerance held to +/- .00005 taper per inch. Have the ability to put steps on tapers to show go/no go on diameter. Can also salvage old taper gages by chrome plating. This is not a good fix for tapers less than five inches in diameter because of chrome costs versus making new. Part like Masters Part like masters are using used mainly in production lines where inspection of automotive parts are needed to be checked quickly. It is not uncommon for a cam shaft to have 50-100 features in less then a minute. Common types of part like masters but not limited to are. Cam and crank shafts, rotor and drums, connecting rods, liner masters, valve masters, shaft master’s extra long rings or discs. Material commonly used is tool steel. Stainless steel will be utilized in a damp situation. We have the capability to design from part prints. Can repair old masters with chrome plate Can certify most masters to A2LA specs.
