President`s Message We have all survived the crazy weather, April
May 2014
President’s Message
2014
We have all survived the crazy weather, April vacation and the change
to summer uniforms. As May rolls around, we only have one more flip of
our calendars and then before you know it, the summer hiatus will be
upon us. Next year will be a transition year for the ICSPA board with
the following positions open (as of right now):
Co-Presidents (2).
Please contact Heather Short at shorty_home@msn.com or Danyelle
Letendre at dbletendre@comcast.net with any questions and we will do
our best to answer any of your questions.
There are still many activities planned for the rest of the year so read the
rest of the newsletter and watch backpack mail for more details. Keep
our second graders in your prayers on May 3rd as they celebrate the
Sacrament of First Communion, our Eighth Graders on May 31st as
they graduate, and Father Michael as he makes the transition to his new
(and very lucky ) parish June 1st.
God Bless,
Heather and Danyelle

Annual Appeal
The weekend of May 17th and 18th is the IC School Annual Fund Parishioner Appeal at
all of the Masses. We are in need of students who would be able to serve as greeters
before the start of Masses that weekend. It will involve arriving at church 15 minutes
prior to the start of Mass, handing bulletins to parishioners as they enter the church
and saying “Good Afternoon” or “Good Morning” as appropriate. Students would
need to be dressed in their formal or summer uniforms. Parents will need to supervise
their children. Permission slips will be sent backpack mail the first week in May.
Contact Mrs. Sandi Barrett at 508-481-391 or Advancement@ICSchool.net if you are
interested. Your participation is greatly appreciated.
BAKE SALE
We had another successful Bake Sale, with proceeds of almost $900.
A BIG Thank You to everyone who lent their baking talents and
helped with sales after masses.

Grandparents/Special Person Day is Friday, May 2nd. Thank you to
all those parents who have agreed to volunteer their time this morning to
ensure all the children in the Convent and Lower Schools have a
wonderful time during this event. We are looking forward to meeting many
grandparents and special guests of our students.
Volunteers Needed



Calendar Raffle: This is a huge fundraiser. Rose has been doing a fantastic job the
last few years and could use some help with Public Sales Events, Sunday Masses,
Incentive Prizes, and Distribution. Many hands make light work.
Movie Night: Mary Ward has run this event for grades PS-5. This event can be shared
with a friend. Ideally, a Convent School parent/guardian would work best for these
events, since most attendees are in the younger grades. A parent running the movie
equipment and another in charge of food and admission works well. We would be
more than happy to show you how to use the equipment and review all other tasks
associated with movie nights.
Santa Breakfast Coordinator: The coordination effort can be shared by you and a
friend. This popular event has many volunteers to share the work load. Tasks
include recruiting, organizing, & scheduling parent volunteers. Preparing newsletters
and email blasts. Construct countdown calendars, conduct status meetings with event
sub-chairs, and organize venue set-up and clean-up.
ICSPA Co-Presidents: If you are interested in becoming an ICSPA Co-President for
the 2014-2015 school year or would like more information please contact Danyelle
Letendre or Heather Short.
Please contact Danyelle Letendre or Heather Short if you are interested in any of the
volunteer positions.
