MASTER CYNDY JONES INDUCTED INTO THE
ISSHIN-RYU KARATE HALL OF FAME
This past July, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Master Cyndy Jones was inducted
into the 2016 Isshin-Ryu Hall of Fame. The purpose of the Isshin-Ryu Hall of
Fame is to recognize and honor outstanding Isshin-Ryu Karate-Ka for their
contributions to the Art of Isshin-Ryu Karate.
Master Jones started Collamer-Jones Karate, Inc. in 1986 and has been
teaching karate as well as self-defense ever since. In her early years, she was
an active competitor in National AAU and IWKA Karate Competitions. In
recent years, she has concentrated on taking her tournament team to
competitions
Master Jones is a Senior Instructor in both the Filipino Martial Arts and JKD
Kung Fu under Sifu Kevin Seaman. She is a Yon-Dan in laido under Shihan
John Drouin. She teaches these martial arts in addition to lsshin-Ryu Karate at her school, which is located
in Bergen, NY. Master Cyndy Jones has also overseen the Gillam-Grant Karate program since it’s inception.
Her other martial arts training includes the rank of Ni-Dan in Kyokushin Karate under Shihan Michael
Monaco, as well as Thai Boxing under Sifu Seaman.
After a serious bout with cancer, Master Jones started her karate training at the age of forty. She feels
strongly that karate contributed much to her well-being and that it is never too late for a person to start
training. Whether practicing alone, taking a class, or teaching a class, Master Jones always finds something
new and enjoys herself. Master Jones is married to Evan Thomas Jones. They have four children and nine
grandchildren.
CONGRATULATIONS Master Jones on this amazing achievement.

The Jungle Book
In this reimagining of the classic collection of stories by
Rudyard Kipling, director Jon Favreau uses visually stunning CGI to create the community of animals surrounding Mowgli (Neel Sethi), a human boy adopted by a pack
of wolves. The appearance of a villainous tiger named
Shere Khan (voiced by Idris Elba) forces Mowgli's
guardian, the panther Bagheera (Ben Kingsley), to shepherd the child to safety in the "man village." Along the
way, the boy meets an affable, lazy bear named Baloo
(Bill Murray), as well as a snake with hypnotic powers (Scarlett Johansson) and an orangutan (Christopher Walken)
