2014 sauvignon blanc
MARLBOROUGH, NEW ZEALAND
HERITAGE
Planted in 1980 in the esteemed ‘Golden Triangle’, Drylands Home Block Vineyard is
one of Marlborough’s oldest Sauvignon Blanc vineyards. Darryl Woolley, who made
the first wine from the Home Block in 1982, is regarded as one of the pioneers of
Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
VINEYARDS
Drylands 2014 Sauvignon Blanc was crafted from four small vineyard sites in
Marlborough, including the Home Block. Each contributes their own important
characteristics which combine to form the Drylands signature style. Each year, we
look for passionfruit, tropical, citrus flavours and fresh herb aromas, the epitome of
New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.
One of the few Sauvignon Blanc vineyards in
Marlborough on its own roots. Contributes classic Rapaura characters of
passionfruit and citrus.

IN THE WINERY
The grapes were gently pressed immediately with no skin contact. Based on
characteristics displayed in the vineyard, small batches of juice were cool fermented
separately for approximately three weeks to enhance fruit expression and varietal
character. The wine was lees matured after fermentation to further flavour
development and increase complexity.
