U međunarodnom kontekstu, nordijske zemlje mogu se
smatrati bliskim rođacima jer dijele mnoge značajke povijesti,
kulture, vrijednosti i društvenih struktura. Proizlazeći iz
tih zajedničkih temelja, suradnja između naših zemalja
je u mnogočemu jedinstvena, te se proteže svim sferama
društva, od politike i istraživanja do poslovanja i kulture.
Došli smo do zaključka kako smo zajedno još spremniji suočiti
se s bilo kakvim izazovima pred nama. U svijetu dizajna,
okrećemo se svakodnevnom životu kao izvoru kreativnosti.
Svijet oko nas daje nam inspiraciju i ideje koje njegujemo i
usavršavamo. Dizajn u našim zemljama je minimalistički,
čistih jednostavnih linija, te istovremeno vrlo funkcionalan
dizajn koji sadrži samo neophodne elemente. Mi također
gledamo na dizajn kao na nešto što bi trebalo biti dostupno
svima, dakle pojam demokratskog dizajna. Oblik i funkcija
idu ruku pod ruku i zajedno bude naše emocije. Dizajn koji
ćete vidjeti na ovoj izložbi u mnogočemu odražava naša
društva – on je inovativan, funkcionalan, praktičan i iako se
može osjetiti i određeni nordijski duh, ima i mnogo toga što
naglašava osobitosti svake zemlje. Uživajte!

In an international context, the Nordic countries can be
considered as close relatives, sharing many features of
history, culture, values and social structures. Stemming
from these common foundations, the cooperation between
our countries is in many ways unique, extending across all
areas of society, from politics and research to business and
culture. We have come to realise that together we are even
better equipped to face whatever challenges there may be
ahead. In the world of design, we look to everyday life as a
source of creativity. The world around us gives us inspiration
and ideas to refine and cultivate. Design in our countries is
minimalistic, with clean simple lines, and is at the same time
highly functional, containing only the necessary elements.
We also look at design as something that should be available
to everyone, therefore the notion of democratic design. Form
and function go hand in hand, and together they evoke our
emotions. In many ways, the design that you will see at this
exhibition reflects our societies – it is innovative, functional,
down-to-earth, and while you can sense a specific Nordic
spirit, there are also plenty of expressions highlighting the
particularities of each country. Enjoy!
