Stage One
Timber packer is made to fit
dimensions of fixing lug on outer
section of rooflight.
Timber packer is constructed to
fit in accordance with fixing lug on
outer section of rooflight.

Stage Two
A timber fillet is added above and
below the position of the outer
section and a code 4 lead is
dressed onto the lower piece.

Stage Three
The outer section of the rooflight,
along with the fitted interior liner, is
lowered into position and the lugs
are screwed into the sides of the
timber packer.

Stage Four
Fix tile batons into position
Add lead to the head of the
rooflight.
Note: The lead shown on the sides
is to highlight the requirement for
lead to be used in these positions.
However, it is not to be applied as
one continuous strip and should
be placed between slates/tiles
as shown in the section detail. In
severe exposures it is advisable to
clip down the lead.

Stage Five
Add the slates to the roof,
overlapping the outer section by
approximately 25mm and covering
the lead from Stage Four.
Ensure the area is clean and
free from debris and then add
the opening casement by sliding
sideways onto the fixing bolts on
the top hinged section.
Try to avoid handling the glass
as this can damage the Active
coating.

Clad the internal reveals with
plasterboard so that only the timber
liner and the glazed section are
visible.
