Sulfamate Nickel
High Tech Galvanics Sulfamate Nickel We add value to your parts Normally sulfamate nickel finds its usage in technical applications for example in the electronic industry and machinery equipment. One of the major advantages of sulfamate nickel layers is the low level of internal stress. For deposition of a thick, stress-free, technical layer sulfamate nickel is highly recommended. The layer is ductile and gives a good resistance against wear and corrosion. Sulfamate nickel can be perfectly machined. For decorative applications sulfamate nickel is, for example used as a base layer for a mirror bright chromium plated part. The nickel layer is responsible for the shiny appearance and corrosion resistance, the chromium layer provides the nickel layer for oxidation and maintains the shiny appearance. Theoretically there is no limitation on the layer thickness. Of course, the economic aspects have great influence on the finally chosen layer thickness. Max. layer thickness Up to approx. 2 mm Corrosion resistance Pore free layers with a thickness of 60 – 70 µm will react in corrosion tests as Nickel material. This means a good resistance against oxidizing agents and a moderate resistance against reducing agents. We therefore emphasise that the applications and operating conditions, along with the end user’s practical experience, will ultimately determine the level of performance achieved by the coating and/or coating system.
