Kanaka News Kanaka Creek Elementary School 11120 234A Street Maple Ridge, V2W 1C8 Phone 604-467-9050 Fax 604-467-8073 October 2009 Upcoming events September 25 Pro D Day No school for students A message from the administrative team… Parking At the expense of being repetitive, please be respectful of others while dropping off and picking up your child(ren). We recognize that Kanaka Way and the parking lot get very congested at the beginning and end of the school day; but everyone needs to be patient and behave in a courteous and considerate manner, not only to be good role models for our children, but to ensure their safety as well. • October 12 Thanksgiving holiday October 14 & 15 Individual Photos October 16 Hot Lunch Day October 23 District Pro D • DO NOT PARK IN THE DROP OFF ZONE AT THE SIDE OF THE SCHOOL AND WALK YOUR CHILD TO THEIR CLASSROOM. Even though it may be more convenient for you, parking in this area impedes the flow of traffic and makes it more difficult for others to drop off or pick up their children. It is important that if you need to wait with your child that you find a parking spot in the lot or on the road. DO NOT DOUBLE PARK ALONG KANAKA WAY OR IN THE SCHOOL PARKING LOT. This practice jeopardizes the safety of the students as they often run in front of parked cars. Pro D Day Just a reminder that Friday, September 25 is a professional day at Kanaka Creek. There will be no school for students on that day.
